Aesa's SW diary

Thought I'd start a wee diary now that I've been doing SW at home for a week.

I had my first WI this morning, and I lost 1.5lbs. For some reason I never get the large first week loss that most people get, but as long as I lose, I can live with that!

I'm vegetarian, so only do green days.

When I started, I weighed 13st 5.5lbs (now 13st 4lbs), which is the heaviest I've ever been. My partner and I are TTC atm, and the weight has piled on over the last 6 months as we had a miscarriage, and then an ectopic pregnancy, and I dealt with it all by eating cake. Lots of cake *Mmmmm* caaaaakkkkeeeee! I joined SW to lose some of it before we start trying to get pregnant again in March, and hopefully to stop me gaining the equivalent of an elephant once I am (eventually) pregnant.

I have various medical conditions that make exercising, or even just being active, ridiculously hard, but I've just been given a prescription for fitness through my physio to see a specialised fitness bod to help. Hopefully they'll have things I can do despite my disabilities. The first assessment is tomorrow, and I'm petrified!

So. Today:

B - 2 alpen light bars (HEB1) and an apple
S - Americano (black) from starbucks - resisted the cakes, woohoo!
L - Cheesey omelette (HEA1)
S - small pot of fresh pineapple, melon and apple
D - Saag aloo with roasted gobi, served with wholegrain rice. (6 syns for the EVO used)
S - Banana, 2 x alpen light bars (HEB2), Options hot chocolate drink (1.5 syns)

HEA - 1/2
HEB - 2/2
Syns - 7.5/15

Think this is my 3rd or 4th day in a row of being 100% on plan, and there haven't really been any struggles either which is great! Let's see if I can make it a week :)

I went along for my assessment at the leisure centre this afternoon (hence the light lunch, I didn't know if they'd get me exercising straight away or not!), and I go back on Tuesday to be taught how to use the machines and see what plan they've come up with for me. I am half super excited, and half terrified I think!

5th day of being 100% on plan, and feeling good :)

Well done Aesa for keeping to the plan so well. You are almost at your first "target" of doing it for a week. I am so sorry about your sad miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy. I wish you all the best for when you are ready to try again.
Now I have subscribed to your diary I will be able to see how you get on.

Thank you PeggyDee! Lovely to have company here :) I can't promise it'll be the most interesting thread on minimins I'm afraid, but hopefully I'll lose the odd lb!

Day 11.

Worked out a meal plan for the week ahead this morning, following a HUGE breakfast, then raided Tesco. Included in the meal plan are several recipes that we've not tried before, some that I've had to tweak to fit SW, and some old favourites. Very excited to try the new recipes!

B - (brunch) 2 1/2 x LM rosemary and red onion sausages, mushrooms, scrambled eggs
S -
L - 2 x alpen light bars (HEB1)
S - Banana
D - Mediterranean roasted vegetable risotto w/parmesan - absolutely delicious! (4.25 Syns, HEA1)
Large glass red wine (8.5 syns)

HEA - 1/2
HEB - 1/2
SYNS - 12.75

The risotto is one of the new recipes, and it really was scrummy! We'll definitely be having that one again :)

Day 12.

B - 2 slices small wholemeal bread (HEB1), with 2 poached eggs
S - apple
L - Cheesey omelette (HEA1)
S - 1 x alpen light bar (half of HEB2)
D - Homemade spicy beany burgers (2.25 syns each x 2 = 4.5 syns), sweet potato wedges, syn free chipotle hummous and salad (3 syns for salad dressing)
S - 1 x alpen light bar (remainder of HEB2)

HEA - 1/2
HEB - 2/2
SYNS - 7.5/15

Dinner was delicious tonight, even if the burgers did fall apart a bit. I think they just need more smooshing together before cooking. There's another 7 in the freezer for future easy meals too, hurrah!

I can't remember if this is 6 or 7 days of being 100%, but either way I'm pleased with how things are going!

Can't edit my last post for some reason, but it's the 7th day at 100% in a row, whoop!

Just did a cheeky WI, and unless something goes drastically wrong before Wednesday morning, it looks like I'm set for a loss of at least 1.5lbs, hurrah!

Day 13.

B - Mushroom Omelette w/cheese (HEA1)
S - Banana
L - Baked potato and beans
S -
D - 2 x WW wholemeal pitta breads (HEB1 & 2), Vegetable fajitas (3 syns for oil), cheese (HEA2)

HEA - 2/2
HEB - 2/2
SYNS - 3/15

The fajitas were lovely, not sure about the WW pitta bread, but I'll have to get used to it I guess, the tortilla wraps are 8/9 syns each! It actually made a lot less than I was expecting, so was quite a small dinner, I may have to have something extra later on - good job I have so many syns saved really!

I've just realised I didn't update this yesterday, oops!

So, Day 14 went:

B - 2 slices small wholemeal bread (HEB1) and 2 poached eggs.
S - 3 mini babybel (HEA1)
L - Courgette frittata (1/2 HEA2)
S -
D - More courgette frittata (rest of HEA2), sweet potato wedges, and veg.

I also had my first proper session at the gym yesterday. I quite enjoyed it bizarrely enough! Everything I did was on the lowest speed/setting/weight, so I felt like a bit of an idiot, but the trainer reassured me that it was enough, and there was maybe 4/5 people in there max, which was good! I'm looking forward to going back! I can't go for a couple of days now because I have other things going on, but hopefully I'll get there Friday, and I'm planning on going 3 times next week.

On to today... I've just done my second weigh in, and I've lost 4.25lbs! I'm beyond thrilled! It takes me through the target I'd set myself for January (to lose 5lbs) in just 2 weeks! :D

Welcome littlemissnaughty, I'm all up for geeing one another along! :)

How do you make your courgette frittata? I love courgettes and am hoping to start growing them this year so it would be good to get some recipes.x

I nicked the recipe from someone on here funnily enough: http://www.minimins.com/slimming-world-recipes/196833-themissus-vegetarian-recipes.html#post3322966 It was delicious :D

We grow quite a lot of veg, and courgettes are amongst the easiest to grow - you should definitely give it a go! One plant is normally plenty to provide more than enough courgettes for a family for the whole summer, but I am so addicted to them that we often have more like 4 plants on the go :p

Day 15.

I've broken my 9 day run of being 100% on plan. Bugger. In my defence, we did have people over (last minute, or I'd have had a different lunch!), and normally I'd have had MORE than 2 large glasses... plus, I'll be back on it 100% tomorrow, and will make sure I don't go over 105 for the week ;)

B - 2 alpen light bars
S - 3 mini babybel (HEA1)
L - Spanish Tortilla (6 syns for olive oil)
S -
D - Wholewheat spaghetti, with homemade ratatouille style pasta sauce (2.5 syns)
And...
2 x lge glass of red wine (17 syns)

HEA - 1/2
HEB - 1/2
Syns - 25.5/15 (oops! :p)

Hope everyone else is doing better than me today! :)

Day 16.

100% back on plan. Hurrah!

B - Omelette
S - 3 x mini babybels (HEA1)
L - Vegetable non-fried rice :)
S -
D - Chili broccoli pasta (HEB1 olive oil)

Dinner was SOOO simple, and delicious. It didn't need the broccoli tbh, I didn't feel that it added a great deal other than bulk, but they added more veg I guess (without, it would just have been garlic, chili, and a few cherry toms on pasta!). Reminded me of some of the ultra yummy food we had in Naples a few years ago. We'll definitely do it again :D

I've just noticed that in stark contrast to yesterday, I've had no syns at all today  I may have to have a bit of chocolate in a minute to rectify that situation!

ETA - situation rectified, and not with chocolate either. I had an additional HEB of 2 slices of small wholemeal bread (toasted), and 2 tbsps (measured ofc!), of peanut butter for 9 syns. Yummsers!

HEA - 1/2
HEB - 2/2
Syns - 9/15
