Working away - Eating in restaurants!!!

Hi!

So I am wanting to drop at least 2st by November. I am on my second day of Slimming World (online) and am finding it really easy - love it so far! The only problem is I work away from home a lot which means a lot of restaurants - mainly beefeater, table table or brewers fayre. This is where I think I will struggle, not with the food choice exactly but mostly because I am nervous about how much oil they use in cooking and the fact I can't see how it is being cooked!

If you have any hints or tips, or experience on healthy options at these restaurants, please let me know :)

Thanks

Hi I eat out a bit, first thing search on sw online featured for eating out features and also restarunt names you are going to. Don't be afraid to ask for what you want I.e no dressing on salad, changing the chips for jacket potatoes. Always look at menu before you go if possible so you can make the choice before you go. My consultant says she orders first do she can't be swayed by what other people choose. I count 6 syns for oil or a Heb when eating out ( have to say I didn't at the beginning and could get away with it but now I can't )
Hope that helps

I used to work for brewers fayre. Within this whole chain they are told to be accomodating so dont be afraid to ask for jacket potatoes. All our steaks used to be cooked without oil not sure if its the same now though!

Thanks for all your help guys! I will have to ask - I always think I am being too awkward! Will stick to grilled items and swap naughty things for healthy options!

Hi, just reading your diary and I am exactly the same, I am normally away a couple of nights a week and usually end up in a premier inn which is linked to the same restaurants you mention! It's nice to know I'm not the only one...I had got to the point where I grabbed food from supermarkets and sat in my room all night rather than risk it....not particularly sociable hey!

Yes Premier Inns! My second home haha. I'm thinking sometimes I may do that, but I like a hot meal at night and with no cooking equipment it's only restaurants :( think I'll stick to steaks and fish!
