Well done you - I am not going to worry on Christmas day itself but am more worried about leftovers. Half considering doing a 5:2 week instead of slimming world but I know that is not a part of the plan.

I dont think i am going to bother on xmas day either but i am not going to go ott with chocs and puddings etc but I will enjoy my dinner and some nice wine and get back on it next day x

I'm going to family for Christmas dinner itself, and I really don't feel as though I can make demands such as "please roast my potatoes in frylight" and "please don't put butter :)drool:) on my veggies" so I think I'm going to just go with the flow! Take smaller portions of the food I know is high in syns and bulk out of vegetables.

The alcohol though is a different matter!

Last year I made syn free chicken liver pate for starters/buffet tea, scotch eggs for buffet tea, a mandarin cheesecake made with jelly and quark and Mandarin slices for dessert, a scan bran carrot and ginger cake, pigs in blankets with joes syn free sausages, frylight roasties, turkey, sprouts, basically I stuck to plan with all my meals.

I then flexi synned lots of chocolate and some cheese and crackers.

Back on plan boxing day and then after, going to try and do the same this year, I don't drink though so that makes it easier I suppose.

I think I'm just having three days off plan but then straight back on it after Boxing Day. I have to eat Xmas dinner three times every year looool but that's not too bad. Load up on turkey and veg but go easy everywhere else. It's the picking and grazing that gets me every year lol I will try not to eat for the sake if it but I only drink baileys so that's a huge wodge of calorie laden sugary diet killer right there before I even get to the nut bowl.

I'm with family this year so just gonna try my best to eat less and take my own alcohol as my glass always gets topped up with wine, so if I take bacardi, it will help. Also a first this year is exercise. I exercise a lot now and am going to try just a little 30 min run everyday over Christmas in the hope that it counteracts some of the CAKE! :D But then I have Berlin for New Year....all that sausages!!! Help! :D xx

I'm doing Christmas this year. Everyone is getting a SW version as i won the Christmas book in the raffle the other week ;)

I will have some choccies, but I wont buy a big tin even though a smaller box works out more expensive!

Sw Christmas day dinner for me as I have weigh in on the Thursday, the only problem I can for see is that I'm at the mum in laws boxing day and new years day. No getting out of it and its the most high cal dinner you'll ever see!! I'm still trying to work out how I can tell her not to put butter in the veg or mash potatoe, no sausages on my plate (although I'm debating whether to take my own sw version!) And definitely no gravy as she pours all the fat from the meat into it!!

You might have a stomach bug *cough* or an attack of gallstones *cough* which is triggered by animal fats. Non-life threatening but best I avoid that butter hey...

Haha, she's coming to us Christmas day for dinner so I'm hoping after eating my lovely offering she'll change hers slightly. She has been asking about my weight loss as she's looking to lose some for my nephews christening in a couple of weeks but her idea of a good diet is starving herself on a cereal only diet!! I really am deading it as I'm planning to stay on plan over Christmas so want my syns for little treats through the week, not to use all on her dinner

Maybe take some leftover veg/roasties from yours with you to hers and tell her "it's important to me that I stick to my diet, I hope you don't mind I didn't want to offend you but also didn't want to make you extra work cooking something special for me"

If I have any left overs lol!! That's not a bad idea as I was already thinking of taking my own pigs in blankets. Was just going to pick at it and then have something much better for me when I got in

I've gota few nights out over Christmas which in dreading! Christmas Day I will have an "off day" gotta enjoy it and all the trimmings!! Right back on it and in the gym Boxing Day :) x

I'm ok on Xmas day cos I'm cookin dinner but then were at family's on the night for a buffet, then were eating out at relatives (probably buffets ) a further 3 times !!! Eek!!! Do I just think sod it & stuff my face with baileys, ferero roches, cava, nuts et al or be sensible...such a tough one !! I'm leaning towards stay off plan from Xmas eve till New Year's Day (only a week ! What's the worst that could happen right ?!)

I am planning to be on plan between. Now and Xmas eve night. Normally have a feast Xmas eve so I will make SW options! Xmas day is a day off! I want to enjoy red wine and Christmas pud with brandy cream completely guilt free and I will :) boxing day should be back on! Liking the idea of this so will motivate me over the next few weeks x

I'm planning to flexi syn Christmas day and boxing day. Im allowing myself 25 syns for each day and staying strictly to plan before and after. We are staying at home this year so I will have complete control over cooking. My plan is to have large meals with lots of super free foods so that I will be full and won't snack.

I'm going eat whatever I want from Xmas eve teatime until Boxing Day-then il be straight back on it from Boxing Day onwards...I'm not a big drinker so will mainly be food-how much damage can I do in a day and a third?? Lol x

Christmas comes but once a Year so I'm going to make the most of it the way I'm thinking is weight is not put on or taken off with one bad week yes it might take you two to return to Pre Christmas weight but it's only a week of pure indulgence then back on plan in the New Year
Can't do too much damage in a week as long as you get straight back to plan!?

Interesting to see how everyone is planning to tackle SW over christmas. I'm going to my parents Christmas day then we're having a family party on boxing day. Everyone brings a bit for the Buffett so both days are out of my control.

We've also got a family meal out on 23 rd which is a set menu but going to try and pick best options and request things cooking how I like but not sure how accommodating the pub we're going to will be!

My plan is to try and stick to plan where I can and then just not go completely mad where I can't. No eating for the sake of it or nibbling when not hungry. It's going to be tough though!

It's interesting to hear how everyone is planning Christmas I think we should all come back to this thread after the New Year to see if we achieved what was the intention and also how everyone enjoyed the Festive Season
Looking forward
Have a lovely peaceful Christmas all my
Co- minimumers ?
