Green tea??

Do you really think drinking green tea helps? How many cups would you need to drink?
Has anyone used green tea and seen the benefits?

I find it helps me actually. There are a lot of studies both on the antioxidant and metabolism boosting properties. The metabolism boosting is largely down to the fact it contains caffeine but I drink between 3/5 cups a day and although it took some time it did really rev it up.

I think its down to the individual. If you drink a lot of tea and coffee anyway then you may not notice the change so much as you already take in a lot of caffeine but my husband also swear by it and he is a real gym bunny.

Ah thanks. I know it has health benefits and seen that a lot on here drinking it and wondered if it helped their weight loss too. Never had it, but I don't drink enough during the day, maybe 1/2 tea and 1pt water so my aim is to up the fluids this week, considered green tea

I love drinking green tea (it's the only tea I like) I don't know if it's helped with my weight loss but psychologically you do feel like you're being healthy by drinking it, so that has helped me to get into a healthy mindset definitely xx

I love green tea. I don't think it's helped my weight loss significantly but I do feel much clearer headed after a couple of cups of green tea than I do after drinking coffee. I have a cup of plain green tea in the morning with a little lemon juice and then drink the flavoured stuff during the day (the jasmine one and the cranberry one are my favouries). The health benefits are a nice added bonus too :)

I drink it if I'm feeling bloated, the apple and pear one is my fav

Oh nice where's that from? Def seems to be popular drinking the tea so I'll give it a blast

Green tea is great if you're feeling stodged, Twinings do some good flavours and Sainsburys has a whole bunch of them - I have a cranberry and raspberry one, it's great.

Tetley do a mango and passion fruit one which is 50 bags for about £1.90, really nice and inexpensive (I get mine from Sainsburys). I also got a variety pack of the Twinings ones from Home Bargains just before Christmas, they were 25 bags for 99p, not sure if they still have them though xx

Its just a twinning's one, I get it from Asda. I don't like very many of the green teas but that one is lovely. I don't like many of the fruit teas either but I like the rhubarb and blackcurrant tea which is also a twinning's one- not green tea though.

Like everyone said it has health benefits but it doesnt burn fat off like some people assume. Green tea is a great coffee replacement which in turn means you wont need milk or sugar. 6 cups can boost your metabolism when consumed on a regular basis. I once had 12 cups and felt jittery and sick, wont be going that crazy again. Try mint tea, its great for digestion. I tend to drink clipper caffine/unbleached green tea xx

Absolutely helps! Every time I've done a week of tea drinking I've had good losses (3-4lbs)!

Drink to shrink!!

The more you drink the more your body gets rid of excess water, not dehydrated so doesn't hold onto it. Best tip ever for bloating and detox is to get on the tea!!

There are various threads about this, I remember asking the exact same question myself!
(Try searching the word Bloating in the forum search menu)

I've read alot of things about green tea and there are some great health benefits to it, not just weight loss, I think the weight loss aspect works for some people and not for others, my old personal trainer told me to drink 3-5 cups a day to help get my metabolism going and that it would help aid weight loss. I drink green tea and pomegranate as someone at work had some once and I found I loved the flavor more than just green tea. I find that whether it helps with my weight loss or not i feel almost "cleaner" on the inside if that makes sense, it makes me feel better from the inside out so whether it does anything or not physically, in my head I feel better so it's a good in the hood for me! x
