For some reason my newly bought packet of Weetabix minis for the last two days only, taste weirdly of..mould! It's so weird my boyfriend hasn't said anything and he's eaten them. Iv obviously checked and there is of course..no mould or any signs if anything nasty. The packet inside the box has been covered over and kept in normal place (not next to anything weird or strong smelling)

Am I going crazy? I have a bit of a very mild cold but all other food has tasted ok..

I once had an occasion where cups of tea tasted of ash, like cigarette butts.

Then I found out I was pregnant....;)

maybe its just your cold, or you taste buds are changing? I've found since doing SW certain foods just aren't palatable any more.

No it's all sealed a fresh!
I'm an not pregnant either, although I would love a baby so much! Not the right time for us at the moment though.
Maybe I'm just having a weird time of it

Once I got pine mouth. I had eaten a certain kind of pine nut, and everything tasted bitter for a few days. It's really weird.

Have you taken any medications lately that might affect it? I was once on antibiotics and for some reason they affected my taste buds and everything I ate had a really nasty aftertaste to it for a couple of weeks. I'd had the same antibiotics before and they had never affected me like that in the past so it could be a strange side effect of something you've taken maybe? Have you had any cold medicines or anything?

I was about to say before I found out I was pregnant with my second a cream desert tasted off to me but everyone else eating it said it was fine.

It might be the cold you have especially if it's affecting your nose. Our sense of smell affects how things taste.

I agree with some of the previous posters, colds can really affect your sense of smell and, consequently, your sense of taste. Maybe try a different cereal until your cold clears up and then you can re-taste-test the Weetabix! :)
