Extra Easy Struggling :/

I've only joined sw on Wednesday but so far I don't think I'm doing too well, I'm trying so hard to keep 1/3 super free food but I don't like salads, lettuce, cucumber etc so finding this part difficult but know it's key to loosing the weight.

I do like cooked veg like carrots, broccoli, spinach etc but I've noticed in my food diaries over the last few days that all my super free food has been either spinach, broccoli, sweetcorn or mushrooms.

Ive been getting more super free food in there with fruit but that's for dessert etc after my meal.

Im trying so hard at sticking with it, and weighing all my HEX out perfectly and reading all my sw books and looking online to try and get some food inspiration but at the moment all I seem to be eating is eggs or pasta with random cooked veggies stuck in

im not really enjoying what I'm making or eating and I feel like I'm eating all the time :/

so any help, tips, ideas, kick up the butt would be much appreciated =]

What kind of foods do you enjoy?

Are you using your syns? I tend to use my syns to make yummy meals, such as spag bol, chilli, pasta bake etc. There are also loads of recipes online. I've found on SW you can eat almost any meal as long as you are making it slimming world friendly.

I would make a list of the foods that you do like then search for recipes that include these foods.

I don't think there's anything wrong with having the same three or four superfree foods every day as long as you enjoy them, although a little side note, I don't think sweetcorn is superfree, just free.

Like Michelle says, you can pretty much eat all the foods you like on SW as long as you adapt them.

Stick with it and good luck!

As the others have said, the best thing about SW is that you can eat virtually anything you like, adapt most recipes to be SW friendly by omitting fat and things high in syns. Maybe if you let us know your favourite kinds of food we can point you in the right direction of SW recipes or give you some ideas.

I also think it's best to plan your meals in advance and be organised so you know what you need to do and you're not just thinking of something to throw together on the spot - that way your menu is going to be more varied :)

Thanks for reassurance. I have been planning my meals ahead to be more organised so I can carry on doing that. I think I was just worrying about the 1/3 super free a bit too much. I've looked on lifeline online and favourited so many recipes that I know I will like and will enjoy so I think it's just getting used to it.

I Think I had a confidence dip as a few people who know I'm doing SW don't seem to understand the concept of it and are used to the WW points or counting calories, think it's wrong pasta potatoes etc are free foods and have tried to give ideas of how to 'help' me adapt the diet to what a 'normal' diet should be. But I'm sticking by the SW books and not varying from them as I've heard lots of good things about SW and seen people get results from it.

Got out my first weigh in on Wednesday so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a loss.

Ignore them. I thought it was MENTAL that we were allowed to eat pasta and potatoes. Totally cuckoo. Went along with it in an amused, rather supercilious way. And...kept losing weight. It really works! And yay, pasta and potatoes!

Good luck :)

I'm in my first week and are thinking the same with regard to the superfree foods. When I do the food shop next week I'm going to buy loads of frozen veg as its hard to stay motivated with just salad - plus its expensive!!

The first couple of weeks I ate so many tomatoes and peppers I was sick of them. After that we tried to mix it up more - I made a colourful list of superfree foods to stick with my recipe books and tried going through the list to see which I could try out with different recipes. So for example a Moroccan stew with squash, a goulash with celery and carrots, a carbonara with mushrooms and asparagus...

First of all sweetcorn is just a free food (unless its baby corn cobs) same goes for all types of peas, theyre just a yummy free food :)

As for superfree if you like pasta, why not do it in a tomato based sauce? or curries, or casseroles? then straight away youre using pasatta or chopped toms and thats a SF, mushrooms onion, garlic for flavour all SF, green beans, brocolli, spinach ALL SF :) maybe go through your park to pick out all the SF veg you like of the list and see if you can find recipes with those in?

Maybe look at the fake aways? There are some awesome recipes healthy for meal swaps

Good Luck
.x.x.

Also if you drink diet coke, water or even herbal teas why not try adding a slice of fresh lemon or lime? it would count towards your SF intake :)
