New to SW, any tips?

Hello,

I am just starting SW. I gained a massive 7 stone whilst pregnant and I am now beginning a long fight to get it off and get back down to a healthy size for my boy.

So I am doing it from home. I cant afford meetings and I have my little boy at home with me all the time.

Any tips? What's your favourite syn free food? Any advice would be great.

Thank you!

Hey

I'm just starting back, I lost 12bs on slimming world last year so definetely recommend.

I think the syn-free staples are obviously as much veg and fruit sa possible, carrots, cucumber, grapes and oranges are my favourite, then muller light fat free yoghurts (there will be a post somewhere saying which ones have syns, but think they are all low or nil), use your healthy extras, I love the alpen light bars and babybells!

For low syn naughties try mikado sticks at half a syn each!

Hope that helps a little!

Very similar situation, nearly 4st gained after having a baby for me!

I eat fruit a lot through the day and for breakfast, try and keep the day syn free so you can have a nice evening meal.

also I think these are fantastic; Mini quiche muffins - Recipes - Slimming World

Good luck.

Thanks that's a great start for me :)

My main tip would be to plan every week what your main meals will be, and to jot down which superfree you will be having with each meal. Then every night, i work out what i am going to eat the following day, and work out how many syns i have remaining (depending on if i have used any with the evening meal.)

Also i find drinking lots of water (or no added augr sqaush) helps alot with my weight loss. For me, i drink about 3.5litres a day.

You need to think of SW as a way of life and not as a diet. If you slip up, draw a line under it and get back on track. My favourite way of thinking about it, is that if you have 12 red roses and 1 dies, you wouldnt throw the rest away.

Good luck and believe in yourself xxx

My advice is to plan all meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) Have snacks ready in fridge and your bag on stand by, research all your fave meals on here to find SW friendly alternatives, make sure you consume all your healthy extras and fill your plate with lots of super free, If you like things like crisps and choc etc then fill a lunchbox up with a days worth of syns including low syn crisps (spaceraiders are good) freddo bars, Mikado sticks etc and eat as much as you like whenever your cravings hit you, drink water diet fizzy drinks tea coffee etc and watch your weight fall off :)

I love your sons name. Immense.

Id advise keeping a food diary. Either on here or just a handwritten jobby. That way you can ask for specific advice about whether you are following the plan ok etc
