Extra Easy New to SW. Tips please!

Firstly don't view it as a diet. This isn't a quick fix. It's designed to change your attitude to what you eat forever.

My best advice is to keep a full diary. All the time. Without fail.

Also use this site as much as possible. It's amazing. The support is overwhelming. Good luck :)

all of the above that lickthelid said.
ide also plan ahead. I plan a day ahead, others plan their whole week. This way u are in control and are less likely to grab something quick with lots of syns.

good luck :)

I completely agree with you - I did a diary for 3 weeks but never on the weekend after three weeks my consultant said I didn't have to do one anymore... Oh dear I put on and on and on and on... I never understood why, yes of course the 3 Easter eggs didn't help - things I thought were free were not like mullerlight with the cherry underlay and advocardo and olives.... And not forgetting my Friday take away and Tuesday after weigh in cheat meal... I'm aloud a treat...
Who was I kidding
I have just this week started a food diary again and I even done it last night and as much as I was tempted too I didn't go for my take away - I had sausage and mash I used sainsburys be good to yourself sausages and they were only 0.5 syns, I've upped my water I take as many suggested this could be a reason for my gain!
Oh as for Tuesday weigh in treat I had super low fat super noodles - FREE!!!!

It's so easy to loose motivation and "forget" you've eaten things you know you probably shouldn't - your in the best place I've found some fantastic recipies and spoke to some truly inspirational people

Good luck we are all rooting for you!!!

I've just started as well and agree from previous weight loss about the food diary.

But!! I've been calorie counting for years and I'm loving the idea of NOT doing a full diary every day!! I will be diarising my syns though (I'm an Easter egg forgetter too!!)

Good luck :) x

I still keep a diary even 8 months in and find it helps.

My tips would be:

Think of as many types of veggies as you can to fit in each meal. I'd also recommend making a tasty fruit salad in the evenings to take to work the next day.

Plan ahead! I do about 3-4 days at a time, sometimes a week, including the hexes.

I find I do better if my meals are mostly synfree, and I try to save my syns for the evening. Not all the time (eg some healthy syn-heavy avocado in my lunch can be great!) but when I need to get back on track this works for me.

Don't get discouraged if some weeks you don't see the loss you were expecting (and sometimes do better than you expect!) Especially for women, bodies can fluctuate quite a lot. But if you stick at it you WILL see your losses over the course of a month or so. Don't get put off by the seeming illogicality of it!

If you drink, take care with alcohol. Once you start, it can be hard to keep your willpower!

Think ahead when you go out to eat, and look up the syn values on the menu in advance. But be prepared to go a bit over on your syns to enjoy the occasional night out, if that works best for you. One evening off-plan probably won't ruin your week.

Drink lots of water!

Good luck!
