Hi all,

Long time lurker, first time poster!

I first joined the site back in 2012 when I went on an amazing SW journey from 17st 12lb to 13st10lb.

Since then I have truly lost my way!! Upon returning from holiday I have decided now is the time to lose it again - a proper concentrated effort, I must lose this weight by Christmas.

At the moment I am not planning on going to group (although it was successful last time) mostly due to the lack of male members! Cant work out whether that is a good or a bad thing.

So anyway, I'm here, I'm fat and I soon hope not to be. Will lurk and pass out recipes as and when!

Peas and love

Welcome Ollie:welcome2:

I have moved your thread to the SW forum as it will get more attention here.

You did excellent on SW before and I am sure you will again...there is a new Christmas Challenge just started to lose 50lb by Christmas and you might like to join in on the link below to help keep you motivated and please feel free to start a diary as it gives our members a place to pop in and say hello as well as keeping you on track.

If you need any help please ask as someone is always willing to help out:)

hello and welcome. good luck

Hey Ollie, welcome and good luck! The last time I did SW I was the only bloke in the group but it didn't really bother me. I started back again after 6 months a couple of weeks ago and there are now 5 blokes in the group, which surprised me. I'm not sure if it's a sign of a general trend or just a one off.

Thank you my friend.

Glad to hear your group is so well subscribed. Its not me being a wimp, just ya know, its hard to sympathise with the whole star week business! Haha.

Good luck nice to see more guys on here

Good luck. Im officially jumping aboard the sw wagon after recently doing tje Cambridge diet then regaining some after I need to curb my sweet tooth and try to stop snacking!!

Although you might feel wary going to a group with only a few men, us ladies like a male in group!!

Good luck xx

Well if there were lookers like you there - maybe I could be persuaded haha!! In all seriousness, thats why I didnt feel too comfortable last time - I felt a bit mothered!! Was all a bit weird.

The cambridge diet - did you enjoy it?

Im a big supporter of SW as its just normal food with a slight tweak in mentality. I'm still in the 'excited to be doing it phase' (he says whilst eating his 4th piece of fruit of the day).

Hi Ollie, it's great to see you back here. Sorry to hear that you lost your way but well done for deciding to take the issue on and regaining control.
I have done many different plans over time however I have found Slimming World to be the most accommodating of plans and easiest to stick to!

There are a lot of recipes online, here and on the Slimming world website which you can look at, even for things like home-made Doner Kebab and Pizza so you will never feel deprived.
I have found that male members tend not to stick around to our groups, not entirely sure why, you may have hit the nail on the head with the mothering issue though!

When I first started, I found getting the hang of things a little tricky but if you ever go out, don't feel bad if you take your book with you. Some of us still do that, I know I do when I am going to spend a day out with friends and nothing has really been arranged!

The guys on here are lovely so even if you have had a little bit of a gain, they can help you pick yourself up and stick to the plan! :)

Thank you for your input :)

I may go back to the group just to get my new books. Hopefully I dont have to take my old one for all the stickers to be ceremoniously ripped off! Haha.

I am by no means saying it was DREADFUL or AWFUL being the only male I just didnt enjoy all the extra attention I seemed to get. Perhaps it was just with this one group though.
