When losing weight hits home! :D

So, today a very good friend of mine gave birth to a lovely healthy baby boy, 5lbs 5oz.
Naturally as any good friend does, I visited her (along with a huge box of chocolates that I didn't taste tester, a card and a balloon.) to see her lovely new baby.
As I was holding him my first thought was "I can't believe that I've lost how much he weighs in a week." And then I did more calculations.
It really hit home however when I figured out that weight wise I have lost 8 newborn baby Charlie's!
I started to imagine what size that is, and it really hit home. Losing 3 stone (and 3 lbs) is a really good achievement!
Sure I still have quite a fair bit more to lose, but knowing that this amount of weight actually means something made me feel far better about myself! :)

Just wanted to share this as it made me really happy. :)

Good on ya! You will feel it in your clothes, see it in the mirror and hear people tell you but its nice to be able to literally compare it to something physical.

Well done!

Love this! It does make it feel more real when you have something to compare the weight to. I've started checking on a website that gives you random objects that weigh the same as you've lost. At the moment I have lost the equivalent of 9 sticks of salami (9lbs) lmao xx

My two year old weighs two stone exactly. Every time I carry him up the stairs it reminds me how much I've lost!

Hmmm.. Salami is yummy! I could eat 9lbs of it.. hahaha

But yeah it is lovely being able to compare it to something like so. :)

Guru it must feel lovely for you when you carry him! :D

Love this thread. I think a lot of us don't notice we've lost it until something happens, like the first time you fit back into something, what a wonderful day for you, meeting him and a happy non-scale victory! :)

I tell you what, two stones is a lot of weight when you carry it in a boy shaped lump up the stairs!

That's the thing. Losing weight is a real feat and takes a lot of discipline and effort. We should be able to put in on our CV as an achievement :)

Love it!! :D

Haha, I wonder what they'll think if I update my C.V. with that.

key features:
1. Lost 3 stone!

hehe. :)

And I bet it is heavy in a boy shaped lump, lol. :D

My little boy weighs 31lb and I can't believe how heavy he is when I pick him up. I've lost that and a bit more. It's nice to physically compare it to a weight and makes you realise just what you've lost!!

Posts like this are really inspiring. We'll done everyone. I want to lose the equivalent of my 4 year old but for now think I'll concentrate on 1lb at a time!!

I know this feeling! My little girl was 7lb 5 born and is now 14lb and it seems like a ton!! Carrying her about is no mean feat so it really brings home that I've list the equivalent of 2 of her!! (My ticket is wrong - list 2st 1lb)
