Missing class due to IBS?

I have IBS and so far I've had 2 episodes of it during Sw, I put 2lb on the first time and this time I've not gone to class because I know I will have put on, even though I've stuck to plan, and as I am a very slow loser I know it would put me off for the week.
I've used my last 'holiday' day today. I was wondering if anyone else is in the same situation?
I'm not going to be able to afford paying for missed classes but I really don't feel like going when I'm all bloated and in pain. Do you think it's worth asking my consultant if she could make allowances for this as they do with shift workers?

I don't know if there's a policy on it that consultants have to follow- but no harm in asking.

Alternatively are there other groups near you on different days? You can go to any group in a week if you'd feel better in a few days
 
Thanks shopoholic. I will ask the consultant next week. Going to another class wouldn't really work because it usually lasts at least a week.
Wondering about doing it from home again but It's always a slippery slope for me lol

It's not clear from your original post whether you don't want to go because you think you will have gained, or because you are not feeling well enough to go.

If you aren't feeling well enough, then your consultant will tell you what the policy is regarding illness.

If it is because you think (know) you will have gained, talk to your consultant and explain. Then keep going - if your consultant, and perhaps the other members, know the problems you are having they will understand that you are having problems but you are doing your best.
 
I agree with AnnaFaraday. Talk to your consultant about your illness, she may have had other members in the past with the same condition and could have some useful suggestions. If you feel well enough to go to group but don't go because you think you will have gained, I'd urge you to go anyway. It's too easy to "fall off the wagon" if you start missing groups for that reason! Even if I know I'm going to have gained I find the support I get at group to be invaluable and also it boosts my determination when it's not going well.
 
I agree with the suggestions above about speaking to your consultant. However if you're out of holidays and are going to miss a class, why not put your fee aside somewhere and keep it for the next week?

I've put 3lb on due to the ibs I think :( not sure if I'll go to class tomorrow or not .
May be time to think about doing something other than Sw because I just can't make it work this time
