Ready meals!

Has anyone else seen the new Slimming World ready meals advertised on-line? They're due out on 18th February. Although I've regained my love of cooking from scratch, since joining Slimming World, these will be handy to have in for those days when you're just too busy to cook. :)

I believe they also have the recipe on the packaging do you can make it yourself next time.

Yes I can't wait - I am going to put them in the work freezer as a change from baked potato and salad. We are apparently getting vouchers in group tomorrow.

I did read in the magazine though that you are supposed to add vegetables for speed food. That would be fine and easy at home but more tricky with just the work microwave. - any suggestions for microwaved veges? or I suppose it could be salad.

I buy the steam bags for my veggies, stick a portion in and zap them for 3 min's ish. Works well with frozen veg too... I'm buying tesco's whole stock of frozen sugar snap peas at the moment!!?

My tesco keep not having sugar snap peas! its annoying me so much, I need my fix!

I am also so excited about ready meals, I don't eat many of them but after a long day at uni when I get home late, sometimes I don't want to cook and I have not managed to be prepared to have something ready, or for quick lunches when I don't know what to have.

Nightmare!! :)

I'm looking forward to these. I'm not a big ready meal person anyway but at 9pm when I got in from work last night cooking was such an effort! I would have killed for a SW friendly ready meal lol

We got some vouchers lastnight giving us 2 meals for £5, they sound handy for nights when we're late home and will stop me by being tempted with takeaway when busy

It's the syn free sausages I'm excited about!!! mmm! Veggie sausages just aren't the same!

yes they had all the packaging in class last night so we could see all the ready meals available, they have packs of syn free Sausages and meatballs which i cant wait for! Very handy rather than having to make them from scratch! Apparently also bringing out syn-free sauces later in the year too which again will be very handy to keep in the cupboard for a quick meal.
We got the 2 meals for £5 vouchers too in class last night, think there my be an Iceland stampede next wednesday!

I think it would be a shame if people relied solely on these as my personal opinion is the heart of sw is cooking from scratch in a healthy way - but they are fab to have in when you've been working or just cba cooking from scratch because sometimes it is a real effort! And those are usually the times you end up reaching for the takeaway menu.

Great idea and I'm pleased they've done it.

Received my vouchers through an email yesterday. So glad they are Syn Free meals! :) They'll be so handy to have in.
