Pay and weigh...no meeting

I'm just wondering if someone can clarify something for me. Our consultant was in an accident and hasn't held a group meeting for 6 weeks now but just 'pay and weigh' she hasn't been there just the 'team'. So it's literally u go pay your 6euro 20 (we are a german group) weigh and go again. The problem is if you miss a week you still have to pay the back fee to me this is deeply unfair for just pay and weigh and we still have to use our holidays. I have to do a 50 mile round trip to group and this pay and weigh thing is really getting up my nose. Is she even allowed to do this? One week maybe but it's now week 6.
 
Hmmm sounds a little frustrating for you. I would have thought they could have sent a stand in consultant for you guys as image therapy is a big part of going to group.

I can understand maybe a couple of weeks, but 6 is pushing it to be honest. Is there another group you could attend?

Maybe give head office a call/email and see what they say.
Or you could always just have a group discussion amongst yourselves for the time being. Maybe swap recipes etc. try mentioning it at next group.

I can understand how it must be frustrating but on the other hand I imagine it will be difficult for SW to find a replacement consultant to take over her class. The same would happen here but for perhaps a shorter period of time as there would be more consultants available. If you feel really strongly you could just stop going and then rejoin as and when your consultant is fit and well again
 
Unfortunately there is only one other consultant here and she's about 2 hours away. I would if stopped and joined again if I'd known it would be for this long but she's been saying for the past few weeks oh back next week back next week. I just think it's really wrong to be charging people the full amount and charging people for missed weeks when we are getting nothing in return
 
Unfortunately it's not up to her, its sw policy . The venue costs need to be covered just the same as if it were a proper group. And the fact that there are no other consultants available to cover for her will make it difficult :-(
 
Is your consultant providing other means of support at all?
Sometimes, consultants may be able to provide services even when they are unwell and unable to get cover by doing something on Facebook or WhatsApp.

It would be worth clarifying with your consultant if she can provide anything virtual to justify the fee.

And SW won't find a replacement - the consultant has to do that herself. And don't forget that the money you pay does not all go to the consultant - most of it goes direct to SW, whether the consultant has been able to do a complete class or just a "weigh and go".
 
I totally agree with you. I wouldn't be happy paying for this at all. Our consultant was poorly last week and had arranged cover for the group, but I guess that's much easier in the UK.


I would speak to SW and see what they say.
 
My understanding is that unlike WW leaders (who are directly employed by WW), SW consultants are 'free-lance', self-employed franchise holders. So each groups is its own little business, that pays a % of income to SW for the use of its brand. As others have said, SW won't automatically provide cover, and venue costs etc still need to be paid - so if there is going to be a meeting at all, then it needs to be charged for (and it might be difficult to cancel/postpone them as the contract for venue hire is probably a long running one). It is deeply unfair on you that this has been going on so long though. Perhaps raise your concerns with your consultant first, and see if there is anything she can offer once she is back to make up for the missed sessions. Or contact SW head office and see if you can be transferred to the online plan?
 
you paying your money but not getting what you paying for really then and no support but at least you have us to come on and have a natter with there is a image therapy thread to that might help I hope this doesn't pull you of track :)

but I do agree it would be good if you could have a Skype image therapy
 
Surely you must be entitled to some form of refund as you are basically paying for a service you are not receiving and, unfortunate though it is for your Consultant, it is also unfair for the paying members. As has already been suggested, email SW Head Office and voice your concerns and dissatisfaction. Luckily, like Kirsty said, in the meantime, at least you still have Mini's! This is so unfair. I would miss image therapy as I think that's the main part which you're paying for. I would second what other members have suggested about contacting the Head Office. Aside from that, I would ask other group members of they want to go for a coffee and chat about how their week went in regards to the plan. I am sure other members must be missing that element too, and if I was in your situation, I think that's what I would do as I would be so desperate to chat through my week with other SW members as I only know my fellow group members that do it - none of my friends and family are part of the SW gang!
 
seems really unfair to me especially if you have to pay if you miss, not saying your pay and weigh should be free but there should be a discount in my humble opinion.
