Syn free VEGAN food (no quorn!)

Hi I was wondering if anyone knew of any 'meat replacement' type foods that are vegan (not quorn) and free? So far the only thing I've found is the Linda Macartney sage and onion sausages but I have to drive specifically to ASDA to buy them and its the only thing of vague interest for me there and not worth the diesel really. Does anyone know of any others that are free? I don't often use 'meat replacement' stuff (hate that term!) but I work very long hours and sometimes I need something quick...but its all either got syns or eggs in :(

Linda McCartney mince is also vegan and free. Most of the sausages, fakey chicken etc do have syns, vegan or otherwise. The red onion and rosemary sausages are a bit of an anomaly! Best bet is probably to hit up Holland and Barrett, they have the Frys stuff in which is vegan and not too high in syns for a lot of it from memory. :)

Ooooh where can you buy LM mince from? I've never seen it before! I have dried mince which is OK but a lot of recipes call for frozen mince (quorn) and it doesn't come out the same with dried.

I think the big supermarkets will have it? Holland and Barrett sometimes have it too. App says it's free so I'm going with that.

TVP mince is ok but I know what you mean, it doesn't quite work the same. Good for thickening sauces though as is soaks so much liquid up ;)

Hi, if you are still around and haven't discovered it yet, the Good Life chicken style lumps are a free food.
