Tipperary wobbles into 2024

Thanks Susie. 😊

Hip soreness is easing so thats a good sign. Muscle pain still there but thats only a reaction to the injection (i hope).

Unusual day at work, spent the day organising a meeting, drafting an agenda, going to meeting, feeding info back to staff and typing minutes. No actual work done and will have to put a long day in tomorrow.

Food ok, all logged on the diaries page but included my smoothie and everything else as planned above with an almond milk yougurt at 6pm while still at work and knowing i had another hour to go.

Here is official Friday weigh in
75.6kg down from 77. 3kg
BMI 33.16 down from 33.9
A loss of 1.7kg this week

And more importantly my lowest weight this year, i am so pleased with that😁.

So need to keep it up.
And even better, my hip pain has gone, wel almost gone. I was walking so quickly and so easily i surprised myself..

Having lunch out now, my favourite breakfast salad, so leaves, crispy rashers, pudding and poached egg.

And more news, in 2 weeks timw i am going to Paris for the weekend so putting money aside to buy clothes. I may have to pay a visit to Desigual just to see if they have anything i dont have yet😜

WOOHOO fantabulous! Well done you :D

That is so brilliant - amazing what a difference it makes when the pain goes, I think we get used to it and just sort of cope!

Ooh la la fantastique! :D I haven't been to Paris for about seven years, well overdue!

Rest of day went ok. Went home and had a burger, more of the cauli and almond soup and salad leaves with salt, pepper and olive oil. Im enjoing having the oil that way snd a good way to healthily increase my fat content.
I also had a scone with butter, i bought it as a weekend treat. And i had 3 glasses red wine, Netflix and a fire, Friday bliss.

Im on my own today, it was a family trip to Dublin for a christmas event but would require driving and hours of walking so i pulled out after i got the injection on Wednesday. I didnt want to push my hip too far straight away. Im going to go through my keto kitchen cook book and look for more recipes, particularly smoothies i can take to work. So will go shopling. Ive also started reading Jason Fung again

Ooo and looking at the stats above, ive lost 10% of my body weight😁

Thanks all, well up and down and up the same 200g all weekend. But not worried as i know what caused it, toast.
I must be stricter in recording all my meals at the weekend, weekdays are easy as they are more structured but weekends are more grazing.
Ive made a lasagne over the weekend, its now portioned in the freezer. I also made a chunky soup with kale. I also tried out a new smoothie recipe both for a change and in an effort to lower carbs and increase fats. I bought coconut milk, not the tinned creamy stuff but in a carton you can pour or drink. So an avocado, handful of spinach, coconut milk and raw ginger and blitzed. Taste was great, i am surprised how sweet the milk is, but it needed more ginger.
No smoothie this morning though, the little plastic tabs that lock the cup into the nutri bullet motor have finally given up and broken off. I did have one bought from lidl or aldi but i opened it up and well its no use. I tried it to mix some choclate milk, it whizzed the milk and cacoa up but barely chopped the nuts. So i went to amazon and a replacement part should arrive this week.
Ok so have either kale soup or a hazlenut yougurt for breakfast, depending on my mood. The lunch is roasted butternut squash and almond chicken goujons whish i will heat at work and throw over mixed leaves and pour curried greek yougurt in it. That should give me a good balance.

Oh yum that squash and goujon thing sounds lovely, that's definitely the type of meal I like.

I just love the sound of your menus, makes me wonder if I should try low carb again once I move - I really love the protein and veg combo ansd can happily live without potatoes, but it's the bread thing that trips me up every time. That scone you had, I would have had four...

There just isn't a plan where I can have bread and high protein/fat which doesn't involve miniscule portions!

Good call on not going on the trip, best to stay at home and be comfy - how's the hip today?

Hip is easing. Well getting bad now but much later than normal

Morning all, had an unofficial weigh in and had a nice drop. In fact my BMI has just dipped under 33. Im not saying it will stay there for Fridays weigh in but i am on track for a loss. I am usually up and down all week.
Todays plan is an avocado smoothie at tea break and keto lasagne at lunch. I have an almond milk yougurt for snack if needed and maybe an omlette for dinner when i come home, not sure yet.
Have my runners with me and depending on the weather i might pop out at lunch for more leggings and a long sleeved t shirt. The t shirt is to go under some of my summer tunics and dresses.
Yesterday i wore my new shoes, the blue leather brogues, with my jeans. Strangely i only have one pair of jeans. Anyway i wore them with a shirt i regularly wore during the summer, i was pleasantly surprised at how it fit better. I tend not to wear tight shirts anyway but my belly was not bigger than my boobs in it😁. I also got a new bra, a standard large size underwire from Tesco, not a specialist shop one or like something a granny or nursing mother would wear. Nope a regular bra that you can even buy knickers to match.. Which i did.
Ok so plan is to stay focused for the week and try not to be too bad over the weekend. I am going out on Friday with ex work mates so will have alcohol and maybe even pizza. I need to drop extra weight to give me some leeway for my Paris weekend. I dont want to buy new clothes there that then dont fit for xmas. And have confirmed i have 2 work nights out over xmas so more food and drink.
Hmm this will need some serious planning and strict logging.
Have a great day all.

Woohoo on the jeans fitting better - and the regular bra!

It's the logging of everything for low carb that gets me confused, what are the percentages you use again (because I vaguely recall you telling me once before?) - and do you use MFP to log it all?

Actually Susie the only logging i do is my diary here in the members section or in an actual diary. If i dont do that then 1 glass of wine becomes 3 or a square of chocolate becomes a bar and a bag of crisps. I use Carb manager to calculate the carbs of a new recipe to see its ok., especially breakfast smoothies. I make sure they are under 20g Carbs for the day and i make any effort not to have other carbs and have fatty foods if i get the munchies. Like a yogurt or now with cold weather a coconut hot chocolate. I suppose im trying a keto approach but sticking to low carb as much as possible. Im now aiming to increase plant based fats and reduce animal ones. I tend to get some indigestion from animal fats.

Morning all, so was thinking last night about how to try to fit exercise in, and fit my hours at work in, and the commute without hitting rush hour (where i lose 50 mins) and get Oscar to school.
So im going to leave home at 7.50 and drop Oscar to pre school for 8am then go swimming. Swimming and shower will be about an hour so then leave town at 9am ish and be easily in work by 10am. Then i can stay late and still be home by 7.20pm, its as dark at 5pm as it is at 7pm so makes no difference. I hope i can do this 3 days a week, i do have to have one early day at work each week. This works for me now cos i dont have daughter now for a lift. 👍

Ok plan for today is a late work start. (GP smear test😒). Tea break i have cauliflower and almond soup, lunch is meatballs and spinach, then i also have almond milk yougurt. Ive a hot chocolate whizzed up with cacoa, ginger, cinnamon and the last drop of coconut milk and topped up with almond milk. Ive got my vitamins and supplements whizzed into it. Dinner ive made a veg and coconut soup and maybe ham and cracottes or fishfingers. I want to stay away from cheese and eggs today.
Depending on the weather i might go out for a walk at lunch and then i can leave work at 7pm and chill out in front of the fire with all boxes ticked for the day.

What a yummy sounding menu. Do you make the almond milk yogurt or is it an Alpro type one?

Chilling out in front of the fire sounds perfect! Really getting icy overnight here now.

Its the alpro one, so is the coconut milk one. I like the almond milk but have started to use the coconut to increase my fat levels. Its also great with avocado to make a smoothie.
