6th Feb - new diet, new me (hopefully)

    finally...I start on Tuesday - can't wait.
    I am aiming at losing 6stones. Maybe I am being harsh on myself but I really want to do it. I only hope that I will stick to this diet!!

    this site is just so helpful and it encourages everyone who wants to lose weight.

    Hello and welcome Jenna113,
    You must feel so excited about starting this fantastic diet!! It was not that long ago that I was in your position. Time will fly by. Keep focused hun and cut out the carbs about a week before you start. Try and start drinking more water. My sister is starting CD on 18/2/06 and I am so excited for her.

    Stardreamer has given some great advise, cut down on carbs before hand it makes it easier....Good luck hun look forward to reading your posts..

    When I saw your thread title I immediately thought "oh that doesn't sound very positive!" then I thought about how I felt before I started and I was exactly the same really excited but only hoped I could do it. The reason I had forgotten that was because from the day I started CD as each hour passed I got more and more confident and relieved that I had finally found something that was going to work. Within a week I was confident of achieving more than I'd hoped for in the beginning and do you know I did!

    I'm sure you will be the same and will also have with lighterlife the benefits of group support and the counselling programme. Good Luck:)

    Hi Dizzy.

    Well I was not being 100% positive because I am a type of person who does not finish what I start off with. So I am trying to be very realistic and trying to take it day by day. I just hope I do not get fed up with this diet (like in the past). Probably, the faster the results, the more I'll stick to it ;)

    I have lots of confidence in you because you sound like I was. CD is fast and simple. Taking food out of the equation altogether was the key for me. Hope it will be for you too.

    Keep us in touch with how you are doing and get used to drinking loads of water it really is important.

    I restarted Lighterlife on Wednesday after not going for two week, I surprised myself and was in shock because I'd only put on 3LBs.
    Jenna you are going to be fine, on reflection I felt the same way you did. At times I struggled and at times I felt/feel unmotivated, but I 've decided to use those periods of uncertainty to learn and move on.
    We both have 6 stones to lose and I believe you will do it. The best thing about lighterlife is that it is a sure thing and just think, you started February and by July (before that even) you will be 6 stones lighter, image that - a new you for summer.
    Hang in there - you'll do it.

    youll be great , youve made the right decision joining minimims , every time i needed support over xmas and before the dreaded holidays i came here for help and inspiration and found it in spade fulls , so go get em!!!:D and i tell you what in no time that extra 6 stone will be a distant memory XXX

    You people are just so adorable - you have no idea how much courage you are giving me...:p

    well...my aim is to lose 6 stone by July (I hope that is possible and realistic). 2.5yrs ago, i started atkins and lost a good 15kgs. but due to some probs (ex bf!), i ate to comfort myself and not only did i gain those 15kgs, i added another 7kgs to that. so at this moment, i am soooo mad :mad: at myself for letting that happen to myself (coz of a nitwit of a man).:cry:

    july i should be going home to see my family and i just told my mother that as much as i am dying to go visit them during the easter hols, i really want to surprise them in july with the new me...:cool:

    i bought me my new blender and aerolatte so i can start this journey. i know it is not going to be easy (paris next week -argh plus i travel a lot) but with you guys, I think it is going to be one hell of a lot easier!!!:D

    Trust me girl, you are just going to be fine.

    It seems to me that you are doing what you need to do in order to succeed on your journey, image in 6 months time you will look back and be amazed at how far you have come.
    This is what is helping me at the moment - the SMART(ER) =
    S= specific
    M= measurable
    A= achievable
    R= realistic
    T= timescale
    E= evaluate
    R= review
