Hello!

So after not being able to source any xen whatsoever, bad totm last week, my long weekend ended up being an absolute distaster! :sigh:

Firstly I busted my foot on Good Friday (I was sat on it, got up to go to the loo, didn't realise it was as numb as it was and it just buckled inwards - I spent most of the weekend hobbling about and now have a huuuuuge bruise covering my foot) woke up with a cold on the Saturday which didn't get any better - come Monday I was short of breath and thought I had another chest infection so I phoned the out of hours GP and spent 2 hours at the hospital only to be told I have gastric flu (which I passed onto OH). The GP I was speaking to at the hospital was a bit skeptical of Xen and recommended a low GI diet instead.

Have been sick in bed since Monday night and only ventured out for the first time today as I had to take the hound back to the vets.

I think FML just about covers things right now! As soon as I am 100% again I will be back on that wagon, back to my aqua classes and the gym and will try out the low GI diet in the absence of my xen... :needhug:

Massive hugs efk x

I will say a lot of docs are sceptical of xen & that's cos they mostly appear to know bugger all about them & they tend to see the people again who've gained their losses back after coming off them & going back to their old eating habits!!! My doc & the practice nurse said around 90% of people they have prescribed to dont succeed & are not prepared for a whole lifestyle change. They don't tend to see the successful people as most of them don't tend to visit the docs as much as their medical problems are better from the benefits of weight loss. Don't let them stop you if it's working for you going back on them once availability is better.....

((((((hugs))))))) what a miserable time you are having. hope it all sorts it out soon

Oh no hun, that sounds like a pretty rubbish weekend! Big Hugs for you, hope your foot is on the mend soon x

I agree with Lexie although if you are going to do something else then low GI is agood way to go as its a very healthy way of eating. I recommend Anthony worral thompsons recipe books at they explain how it works as well as giving you good recipes

Have a look at the south beach diet, is low fat/ good fats, low/ mod GI designed by a heart specialist in America in south beach Florida - loads of variety not very restrictive except for 1st 2 weeks.. The 1st 2 weeks on ave you loose upto 8lbs etc.. Then depending on what you start eating after 2 weeks - of the main carbs like bread, rice, pasta, potatoes etc depends on how your weight loss continues.. I have the kindle versions of the book.. I was tying to do it myself just low/mod GI but was struggling menu wise

Sorry about your foot.. I have done that and sprained my ankle .. So OUCH!!!
