Advise re slimming v's dress alterations

OK, very happy to be having this scenario!

I get married in 9 weeks and have my first dress fitting in 3 weeks time.

I ordered my dress in April weighing 10lbs heavier than I am now. 2 weeks later they rang and offered me the sample dress which was a size too big (but I thought fitted me) but with a 3rd knocked off the price I said yes.

Now I'm panicing that it's going to need lots of alterations as it was already big and I've lost 10lbs, and although I'm happy to have lost the weight and still want to loose another 6lbs, should I maintain until after the wedding to save on alteration costs? or be happy and continue my weight loss journey and swallow the extra alteration costs?

I would arrange to have an alteration 2-3 weeks before the wedding Hun, that way then any more weight loss will not make a huge difference to the dress.
