Step 1 Sole Source + Agh keep picking!

    I'm officialy on sole source + but made the decision to only have three packs and do just sole source except for special occasions (if we have friends round etc) when I can have chicken salad or something...but I keep picking on stuff and I can feel myself getting worse. I'm only picking on bits that are low/no carb like wafer thin ham or chicken slices and the odd sliver of cheese but getting really annoyed with myself cause my sneaky trips to the fridge are getting more frequent. It doesn't seem to have affected my weight loss (had 6 stone to lose three weeks ago, 21 lbs gone already) but I still feel peed off. Just needed to vent. Got family round tomorrow so going to have my first 'meal' ..maybe after that I'll be able to give myself a good talking to and get my CD halo back in place.
    Would love to hear how others are doing... especially if you have/had about 6 ish stone to lose like me x

    This post made me giggle! Im exactly the same! I've lost 7 stone 4 lbs and have about 1 (maybe 2 if i can) stone to go but I keep picking at meat, meat and more meat! I sheepishly went to my weigh in expecting my sordid secret to show up on the scales but instead was rewarded with a 7lbs loss!!! <--- I was torn between being excited and annoyed as it hasn't made me feel guilty lol!!

    But the suns shining which means summers lurking and I'm determined to wear no cardigans this summer! I might have to come clean to my CDC so she can tell me off or something! But because I know the meat won't affect my ketosis having previously being an Atkins advocate I know I can still lose!

    There are two approaches to this.... one, you are cheating don't do it. Two, it is still working and your losses are fantastic, and if that is what it takes do it.

    I lost over 6 stone with CD a few years back, and starting picking like you did. I started with cheese and meat, and still kept losing, then it went to chilli con carne with cheese (no rice, because that would be bad), then it was I may as well go on WW, then before I know it 6 stone back on and still struggling to get back on SS.

    If I could do it again, I would stick with it until goal and then go through the steps properly.

    Been there. Got the t-shirt (in several sizes!). But try to knock the picking on the head. Yes, you'll stay in ketosis but the calories all add up and it will slow down your weight loss. Why do SS for any longer than you absolutely have to? :) Plus it's slippery slope stuff. This week you're justifying ham and cheese, next week you convince yourself that you can have it in a sandwich... Plus plus - while you have 6 stones to lose you can get away with the odd thing or two, but once you've lost another stone or two it'll really start hampering your progress.

    So best to get out of the habit now, before you lose control!

    Yep, you're all right, I need to knock it on the head and just stick to the odd, planned chicken salad so I don't become a total social recluse! I just wish CD did nicer savoury stuff...i thought I'd be able to cope with the golden veg drink but even that's minging after a couple of sips...i even tried eating it out of a bowl with a spoon telling myself it was posh consomme or whatever it's called. Didn't work. Lol. If they can invent a packet of crisps to join their soups, shakes and bars I'd be able to stay on it forever more. I lost 4 stone seven years ago with lighter life and stuck to it religiously for three months but by the last week I was so desperate for something savoury that I sat and licked the flavour off every crisp in a packet of salt and vinegar mcoys, putting the soggy crisps back in the packet and then in the bin! What a sad sight I must've been! Haha. Well done on your weight losses...nice to hear from people who have/had similar weights to me to lose. My loses have been 12 lb, 5 lb and 4 lb. Would love a nice big 7 lb loss soon x

    Also been doing same and I'm so angry with myself! I also have over 6 stone to lose (well, after some sneaky self weighing, 5 and a bit now - yay!) and even though I been cheating I still been losing. This makes it hard to stop picking.

    BUT imagine how much more we would be losing if we stopped the damn picking!

    Also, this is a good opportunity for us to work on our self discipline when it comes to food. It worries me that if I can't kick this habit then when I reach goal I'll just let it all creep back on again! I think if we address our self discipline now then we stand a much better chance of maintaining.

    But yes I must agree, it would definitely help if the savoury options weren't so flippin hideous!!

    That's true...my self discipline is appalling when it comes to food! I managed to give up smoking, I trained hard enough a year or so ago (when I was slimmer) that I was able to do a half marathon (running not walking aswell! Lol) but put a burger on front of me and I'll crumble instantly! Lol. I also had 6 stone to lose, about a stone and a half gone already but it seems like a looong road ahead of me x

    Hey I've lost a stone and a half too!! We are on the same long old road! I've worked out that if I stick to it ill be at goal weight by bf's birthday so it's my goal to get there in time so I can treat him and feel really confident about myself whilst at it! X

    Well done!! I'm hoping I'll be finished by mid/end of may...just missing my boyfriends b'day which is 9th of may! Typical! Lol. Can't wait to be slim for summer...i was pregnant last summer and put on so much I was constantly in cardigans to cover up my kebab arms! Can't wait to go sleeveless this year. What you got planned for his b'day? X

    Haha no it's cool! His is end of June so was thinking long weekend away, a city break somewhere hot. Then I can wear nice summer clothes and yes no cardigans!

    Lol, I'm at the 'nothing but black leggings' stage at the moment....and most of them are threadbare on the thighs and need replacing! X

    Oh dear. Yeh I pretty much live in jeans when I'm not at work. At work I live on dresses coz they are the only thing that 'fit' (debatably) at the moment..! :/

    Pleased I'm not the only one Lealou! I won't mind when I can wear nice long fitted tops and jumpers with them and look trendy but with long baggy tops and oversized cardis it reminds me of jo brand! And my bloody boyfriend said I looked like robert smith from the cure the other day when I was in my baggy black jumper and leggings! Lol x

    Hehe, he is a joker! Lucky we share the same sense of humour....i get my own back plenty, lol. He is pretty supportive although I know he won't be if I go back to eating like a trucker once I'm at goal weight! I'm planning on going up the steps properly which is something I haven't done when I've done this diet previously x
