Alcohol and weight loss??

    Most likely it shall, good luck! Beer, ale and the such being serious culprits...wine and spirits not so much, but it depends on how much you consume daily/weekly of course...

    Vodka and diet coke is low low low... but yeah when you get drunk you're probably gonna want a takeaway and the hangover makes you eat. So I'm staying away from booze for 4 weeks, it's up to you depends how fast you want to lose weight.

    yeah alcohol makes you hungry - therefore you will eat junk food like kebabs - because can you see yourslf making a chicken salad? lol.

    Also, like nex said - beer is a massive hinderance on weight loss (assuming its more than one can a week lol)
    I dont drink much anyway, but when I am dieting if it is someones birthday I will just have one shot of either vodka or malibu with diet coke. Only have 2 or 3 drinks then stick to either water or diet coke. When everyone asks why you are not drinking I say - I AM! Its vodka and lemonade :D
    And they are usually too wasted to taste it lol.

    Yeah steer away from it, so right about eating junk food while drunk or to help with a hangover

    im not sure about wine but i'd stay away from ciders and beers.

    vodka and baccardi are low, Someone told me, the darker the spirit, the more the calories....

    its all the fizzy juice and munchies that add the cals basically!!!

    to be fair its not necessarily the alcohol that makes you gain weight. its the food you crave and then consume when your are drunk. As mentioned above, a hangover also makes you crave very very naughty greasy food, therefore if you can have a drink and stay away from binge eating, then it should be okay, but that is easier said than done.

    my advice would be to slow it down a little and not go on any mad benders while trying to lose weight. :D

    Luckily I'm the other way - I LOSE my appetite when I've got a hangover!! This has only been since dieting though. Can't quite work that one out............................

    Yeah, I would really try hard to ditch the booze. I personally only drink vodka and diet coke. It has the least cal. For me I am okay when out- I never want a takeaway or anything at the end of the night. Next DAY though.. ugh different story altogether! X

    Beers then takeout is one of my biggest weakness also, I've had to cut that right down. Think it was making up to 20% of my calories weekly !

    Ange, I am the same as you, I usually only drink alcohol at the weekend and stick to vodka and diet juice, but drink far too much of it! I can drink a full half bottle in a night. Luckily I don't crave any food when drinking alcohol but I just don't know when to stop drinking! lol I am fine during the week but really bad at the weekend.

    I have decided for the next two weeks I'm not going to touch any alcohol (plus I am on Alli weight loss tablets now so don't want the side effects lol) hopefully this will also help with my weight loss. Let us know how you get on with your weight loss.
