Hi guys. I'm hoping someone else is like me .. I suffer from anxiety and sometimes it gets really bad. Ok I don't hope someone feels bad like me that came out wrong! I'm just hoping I'm not the only one!
Any help or advice would be so greatly appreciated. Thanks x

I suffer with anxiety too, I had a bad spout of panic/anxiety attacks last year and it stopped me leaving my house for 3 months. I finally told my GP how I was feeling as she referred me for CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) it's brilliant and it's the best decision I ever made attending. It's one 2 one so it's not too scary. They teach you different ways of thinking and seeing things.

This site helped me a lot MOODJUICE - Anxiety - Self-help Guide

It does get better I promise, it may not seem that way now but there are lots of ways to help yourself. xxxxx

Thank you so so much for your reply , I will definitely look at that site. I'm glad things are getting better for you! If you don't mind me asking, did you have any medication to help you? Xxx

No but my fiancé was and still is, he's on fluoxetine and they have helped a little but not a lot. He did get strange side affects but that is expected. Are you thinking of going on medication for it then? xxx

I was on fluoxetine but unfortunately I became totally careless so I went the opposite way and now that I'm off them I am shocked at what I was like on them!
I'm now on sertraline which is supposed to help anxiety , but I have only just started taking them after suddenly stopping fluoxetine due to bad side effects etc.
I just hope that it settles a bit now. I'm going to make an appointment to see a local counsellor too. I just hate the feeling of impending doom xx

Yeah fluoxetine has bad press a lot tbh. Don't be nervous about the counsellor, they make you feel really comfortable and it's all about you. If you do feel uncomfortable over anything they might say then just tell them and they switch subject quickly. There is no better feeling than the one you get when you come out of a session, I felt so relieved and much calmer xxx

I suffer with anxiety and panic attacks. So I really do know how you feel. I am on 3 different tablets and one as and when needed. Been like this for 11 years now :(

I am on mirtazapine(night time), lexapro(morning) and lyrica (morning and evening). Then I have gerax for when a panic attack starts. They seem to be working pretty well right now. X

I'm glad you've got your meds sorted so that you can feel ok, do you suffer any side effects?
Sorry if I'm asking too many questions just tell me to shut up! Ha ha
I suffer from bad anxiety, a bit of OCD , depression& a bit of PTSD thrown in for good measure lol it's so hard having to live with mental conditions. It's also hard that it's sometimes considered a "taboo" subject , like if you have a mental disorder it means you're not "normal" , so it's harder to open up about it. Even my partner doesn't know the full extent because I don't want to put it all on him either.
Why can't our brains just be average eh? Xx

I went through a really bad patch last year and had to have all my meds changed to my current ones and a couple added. I don't really have any side effects apart from loss of sex drive lol. Sorry for tmi!! Xx

Hi did you find any medication that worked, I had cbt therapy and it was great, not on tablets now but I do still have bad days sometimes.
The best tablets I found was citalopram that was for depression & anxiety.
What are you taking now? Do you not fancy asking to be refered for cbt? I even requested it was at a really close clinic coz I was anxious about travelling too far xx
