I have to have a barium enema next week (yeah yuk ) but they have instructed me to eat a low residue diet, that is a low fat low fibre diet for 4 days before the preceedure and liquids only on the day (so that bit will be easy at least). My question is does anybody have experience of this, and is LL a low residue diet? Bit scared of the mega laxative I have to take as the nurse said it would be harsh and I would eventually just pass clear water. Not sure that will be needed as not much to shift in there when on a vlcd is there?
I asked at the hospital but they didn't know about this but they had no idea.
