teris (start weight 10.6)goal 9.6 (14lb to target: 0lost/14 to go)

Kool, thanks! :wavey:

5lb being so close...it hasnt really sunk in yet lol. My initial goal was to lose 5 stone exactly, then 2nd goal was to get to 10 stone exactly :p now am keeping going just a tad longer as got quite a bit of 'squidge' left round my middle to try and shift :sigh:

Right; life story! Started doing all this on 2nd January 2012, after trying and failing numerous times before to actually do summat about my weight. This may offer up a bit more info? - http://www.minimins.com/success-stories/289758-first-goal-done-5-stone-gone.html

Anyways, theres always been ups and downs, but now am finally nearly there! :) sticking with eating better/eating less/moving more/going to the gym, as its pretty much second nature to me now! Still have me treats though lol. Always got some weight watchers toffee honeycomb ice cream sundaes floating about in the freezer :D

Apart from that.....about me: I am obsessed with music, my kittehs (!), concerts, tattoos (got 24 last count!), writing, clothes, heavy metal, reading and the general 'socialising'.

Think thats me in a nutshell! Anything else, just ask ;) how are you getting on/finding everything Teri and Honeytemple?

PS: I usually weigh in every Friday as well! Try and stay off the scales all week but hop on them Friday and randomly at the weekend!

Hiya both :) I lost 4 stone a few years ago just by calorie counting & taking up running. But over the last two years it's started creeping up - first into the late 9s (I tried to tell myself it was muscle because I had started rowing a lot but I was fooling myself), and then into the 10s & I realised I needed to sort it out. Over the last few months tried a number of different things including low carb & high fat (as per Gary Taubes) & Intermittent Fasting but they just didn't feel sustainable. And for some reason the same calorie controlling that did it the 1st time round doesn't seem right for me now- just feel so hungry all the time!! But woke this morning & went on the Slimming World site & decided to give that ago. I too have "squidge" around my middle :)

wow ladies you both have come so far and i find that .... thats why ive done every diet under the sun 1st time works a treat but once i fall off the waggon can't seem to get the same motivation and keep cheating, and make me a 3rd with squidgy bits my main problems for squidge is top of arm mid drift and top of thighs , but after being nearly 16stone i know there will be some squidge thanks to the skin and also having 2 kids ,,, but hopefully over time will reduce ,

i have a big addiction to weighing daily , always have but will try my hardest to not sneak a peak until every friday,

also stepupfairy i knoticed you were just a few pounnd lighter than me at the start of your journey, can i ask a personal question ???? what is your skin like , i still have fat around my belly so dnt really have a idea what my skin will look like but hope when i get to where you are , i might be able to see more what my skin will be like ,

Thats great Teri; hope slimming world really works out for you! :)

Honey - erm.....my skin is pretty much ok I guess! Never had kids though so maybe totally different. Got some stretch marks, mainly on my tummy/thighs but they are fading; I try and massage them with Nivea firming lotion/bio oil when I remember!

Elasticity wise (if thats what you mean), think its pretty much on par with the rest of my body. I don't have droopy skin/folds or anything. Think its best going slow as it can shrink with the loss if you know what I mean, rather than lose lots at once and having an empty 'skin area'. Think thats what am trying to say! :D

I really recommend weights/dumbell work as its fab for your arms! Have only just really noticed how small and toned my arms are getting now

I still have a bit of fat round my middle and a tiny bit on my thighs :sigh: things ARE getting smaller (invest in a measuring tape: highly recommended!), but seems to be slowing down.....or maybe cos I grab and poke everyday am not noticing it as much lol.

Think am actually pretty toned most places; just this evil fat layer to get rid of now to really appreciate it!

On the skin thing- anyone got any tips for under the chin? I used to have a doublechin which went with the weight loss, but I think I look saggy under there. Husband says he can't see anything & swears he's telling the truth but I can see it everytime I look in the mirror. I use moisturiser every day. I have tried some facial exercises but they are so weird I'm convinced they will create wrinkles in other places (!) & I did buy this vibration under the chin gizmo but it made my teeth rattle!! Any ideas? Ideally a magical tightening moisturiser- creams are about the only routine I stick with :)

thanks for the reply and yeah i try to do atleast an hour of exercise a day 250 sit ups and use dumb bells although my stomack im starting to see a difference i still feel my arms are huge but i guess over time the exercise will work , will start using my bio oil on my skin and defently agree with slow weight loss ,

Erm....mine has just pretty much gone down naturally lol  still smidge there if I tuck my head a certain way though! *shakes fist* I DID buy a gadget from Argos that tones your neck/chin area with mini electric pulses (affects the muscles and makes you pull the weirdest faces!), but never actually used it religiously. Gave it a go when I first got it, think it may have helped a tad but like I said I didn't keep at it and it's still looking pretty ok :) maybe do a search for neck/facial toners?

Honey - I used to hate my arms! Felt so wobbly and squidgy, would wear sleeves whenever I could :sigh: think its only these past couple o' months that I really started noticing a difference (can feel nice bone and muscle now!) so it does take a short while methinks. But then theres the whole thing of different people lose fat from different places at different rates/times so it could be like my tummy, and be the very last damn thing to slim down! ;)

lol yeah so true but i no over time as long as i keep up with the exercise they will tone up sooner or later ,

Yes I'll have another look at the internet for a cream with good reviews. My husband says its all in my head - and sometimes it's true I don't see anything. It seems to be worse when I'm dehydrated - & I know the answer to that! I'm not good about drinking water :)

me either teris can't stand water so struggle to get 2-3 litres sown a day , but if you find any good firming creams let us no hunni x

Will do :) So how is everyone's week going? Mine is going well so far- even managed to do 2 X 30 mins exercise (going for the gold award on SW online). Thinking about getting a bike to ride to & from from work- but worried about some of the nutters on the road! Would be great exercise though.

geting on great thanks teris and never followed SW what is the gold award ????? and go you with the exercise and bike is a great idea and a great weigh to burn of thos extra kcal ,

Hey all! Am getting on ok ta bubz! :) had ace gym session yesterday, then had a little drink with a cute guy today ;)

And (after scales sneaking!) I appear to be less than 1/4 of a pound from weighing 9st 13lb! My first foray into the 9's lol :D

Will officially record weight lost/update (hopefully!) tomorrow!

Teri - well done on the exercise :character00115: all helps! Know what you mean about biking the roads =/ wouldnt have the confidence with cars either, bad enough trying not to get mowed down sticking to the paths and just crossing the roads!

Keep it up ladies!

The gold award is 5 days X 30 mins exercise, kept up for 8 weeks. I tend to do 1 or 2 long sessions of exercise a week, this is making me do it more regularly which I think is better. So far I've done 3 X 30 this week :)

Good luck with the weigh in tomorrow StepUpFairy & Honey too when you are weighing. I'm on the scales Sat (fingers crossed for some sort of loss no matter how small!!)
