Hi everyone

Just wondering if anyone else is starting in October. I'm starting on 13th and am so excited it would be great to share this with someone :D

After trying every diet under the sun and probably some more - I can lose weight but struggle to keep it off - I have decided I really need the counselling that LL provides. My brain needs sorting out and this seems the best way to go about it for now.

I am getting to actually hate food so am strangely looking forward to the break from having to bother with it. Only 2 weeks to go then I am on my way - hopefully having others to share my journey with :D

I am spending the next couple of weeks trying to prepare myself for the big change when I start LL - so excited still, just want to start now :D

Hi I have my first session tomorrow and I'm starting on friday! It's my birthday this week and without me knowing and my partner forgetting he organised a suprise night out and baby sitters. I would have postponed it but we have a 2 year old and a 17 week old and nights out just don't happen. So last supper again and I will be ready to start on Friday. I have had a start date for a few weeks now and have to say I have been having all my favorite meals. A bit naughty but I'm now more focused than ever and I'm looking forward to starting.

Hi Ladies,
Congratulations on making the decision to join. I'm in week 10 but I remember that once I'd made the decision I couldn't wait to start. I remember wondering how I'd cope, but was very determined.
I took the first week day by day and now I take it week by week. The losses really keep you going. I couldn't lose weight this quickly without a vlcd and I really need to see the progress because I have so much to lose. You will find the ladies in group are really nice and there for the same reasons as you. The ladies and men on this forum are so supportive and if you check the diaries they have been where you are now and are really understanding.

I hope you will all find LL as brilliant as I did. It really does work if you are determined and the time is right for you.
The difference for me between LL and other diets was the counselling/CBT side.
If you get a good LL Counsellor and a supportive group it really helps.

Hi finally got my form signed , doctor been difficult. Should be getting food packs on wednesday night and start thursday morning can not wait. Lorraine

Welcome all new October starters and hang on to you seats for the best diet and forum going!
Don't forget, water, water, water like a wheel steadily all day, get used to seeing you bathrooms! The amount you hydrate has a direct impact on how much you lose.
All those not yet started, try and cut down on carbs for the few days before you start, it seems to help with headache caused by carb withdrawal, good luck all

Hi Everyone.

I plan to start LL this month, all being well. I occasionally work in the same place where the LL meetings are held and I see a large board with a before and after of a lady who did LL. I'm always inspired when I see it.

The weight has to come off. I feel old and worn out. I want my body back. It's been taken over by carb gremlins for far too long.

I've tried all sorts of things, but too much choice has been my down fall, as well as doing well, and feeling I didn't need to do anything more to maintain. This program seems regimented which is what I need. I also need the support of people who have and are doing the same thing.

I'll be contacting the LLC this week and hope I can get doctor's okay quickly.

The only question I did have is that I will be travelling with work on and off in October. This is not ideal, but it is part of my life, so I have to learn to deal with food, travel and work. I'll be in hotels mostly. Has anyone else been in this position? Most hotels I go to have kettles, (some have microwaves) so I can heat things up.

I'm going to try and make sure I'm home for meetings which I know are very important.

I'm also okay with shakes. Hope you can give me some pointers. I'd be very grateful. :)

Good luck for when you start, you can have soups that just need a kettle, shakes only need water or bars which are easy to carry, those are probably easiest in case you have no microwave. Try and reduce your carbs before you start as it will help towards you not getting a headache.

Hi Vanda,

I started today, I had my first group session last night which was brilliant, completely different to any slimming group I've been to ever. Everyone was so supportive and friendly.

I have so far had a porridge and a soup and I am full up, just about got the soup down, not sure if that is normal. The food packs are not as bad as I thought either.

I do feel bloated, but that could be the huge portion of chips I ate last night!! I'll see in a couple of days if that goes away.

Just think how amazing we will look at Christmas!

Hi everyone! I'm due to start LL for the 2nd time on Tues! I first joined in April this year and lasted 3 weeks, not that the plan wasn't fab but cos my cheque bounced! Now my partner is helping me financially. Iv been waiting 3 weeks to start! I can't wait. I'm away at the weekend and have some food packs left over from last time so Monday I'm gonna start and then get weighed the next night with my councillor! I'm scared but god am I determined, iv had more last suppers than Jesus!!!!!!!! Lol .. I'm fed up of the constant heart burn I'm getting, iv put a stone on since I was there in April!, Heres to Xmas and how good everyone will FEEL .. Cos I feel like crap and have done for a long long time. I want my vibe and radiance back that I used to have!

Welcome Ladies and welcome back Angie - sounds as though you are doing it for all the right reasons and great that your partner is supporting you too.
Just think how you'll all be feeling by Christmas 2-3 stone down !!!

Ive now done 3 weeks and..... so far it is the best diet!!!!!!

Evening lovely ladies

So pleased there will be a few of us starting in October. I'm off to the GP tomorrow to get my form signed and my first class is next Thursday. I'm still excited about starting and am really positive, I need to do get this weight off once and for all.

Looking forward to seeing how everyone gets on xx

Thanks Julz and well done Looly and Angie for taking action. I had my initial consultation yesterday and my LLC was brilliant. Very understanding but also speaking perfect sense (without patronizing.)

I actually start at the second week of November, since I have a holiday booked and LLC agreed it wouldn't work for me to stop and start, since the meetings will be really important for me. I'd rather be totally focused than not.

Plus, I have time to wean myself off all these carbs!!

I need to get my form signed now. Hope the doctor doesn't give me any hassle.

Anyway, hope you get on great! I'm excited for you!! :) x
