I think the porridge takes some getting used to... I use my hand blender after I have added the hot water and then again when it has been in the microwave - much better than when I tried it by hand with a spoon !

the reason that ordinary porridge is off limits is that it is high in carbohydrate. The Cambridge diet is a low carb diet, ordinary porridge would not allow you to go into ketosis which is what is needed to succeed on this diet when following the lower steps, ie ss, ss+, even the 810 programme.

I mix mine with hot water, blend it for 20 seconds, microwave for 1 minute and then blend it again - leave to stand for 2/3 minutes and it's fine... more like Ready Brek than 'real' porridge but it does the trick !
