are we allowed to cook our food in a little olive oil? (2 tbs)

    sorry for the many questions but i want to get everything right and the book isnt arriving until tomorrow. So my question is are we allowed to use olive oil in cooking?

    AH, no Extra Virgin is great for salads and stuff, but it's wasted on frying if you let it get to the smoky point and are not careful. Normal and cheaper olive oil is OK for frying.

    Oh, and I wouldn't worry to much about the quantity either. I tend to use beef dripping for frying myself. :D
