The LLC was lovely although I was surprised how big she was! Her picture on the website was skinny and she has obviously put a lot back on but she was very supportive and someone I feel I could talk to. I was surprised that she didn't try and sell it to me it was very much about me being ready and needed to commit longterm which is really challenging me because I suppose I have never committed to anything long term! Feel overwhelmed with emotion at how doable losing the weight is and how it is me that obviously sabbotages myself! Very eye opening. She advised I go home and talk to my OH and make the decision and if I want to I can start next Wednesday! Lots to think about tonight!

That's great news. great you're feeling so positive. Never mind the ££s, I actually had money to spare for the first time in my life when I was on the packs. Didn't realise how much I was spending on food and drink! It's a great time to start and you'll be feeling so much better by the end of the summer! All the best with your LL journey. Stick to the plan and it works xx

I am pretty sure I will go for it, I do wanna make sure I'm feeling I can do it but maybe after week 1 that will come easier. Well I have nothing to lose and.nothing else has worked and think I will benefit from the group sessions.

Glad it was a good meeting . :)

I know you have a lot to think about, but I just want to say that so far, everything you have said, and the questions you have asked- I believe you have it in you to do this. I don;t know why - I just do. :)

    Good luck!

Thanks BL! I have just said to my mum that I am thinking of doing LL because my councillor said I would need support and to discuss it - well she phoned me so I thought I'm going to be really honest and she went mental!!!! She said it is just another fad for me to try and it's unhealthy and all the other things you expect people to say and it has me doubting myself :( I need the help of counselling and I thinking could cope with the plan although I cannot envision doing it for 10 months or more but I guess you get into routine. I don't know I'm so confused!!!!!

Its hard for other people to judge - i have to have the battle with my family soon and their "opinions" I don't care, I'm fat, unhealthy and unhappy ! Try not to let other people judge and influence you :(

It's your decision not your mums, harsh but true!

You and only you can decide what to do but I honestly think you have to be 100% committed! Break the weightloss down into achievable goals I knew I would be in it for at least 6 months so decided to go for a stone at the time initially then opted for 3 months as a target once you start to lose weight you forget about your fears and worries as feeling fantastic and receiving compliments keep you focused and motivated!

You will also find a great source of inspiration from here too!

Good luck whatever you decide to do xx

A lot of people are scared by the idea of LL because it just sounds so weird and unhealthy. Your mum is probably just worried for you. I read loads of medical stuff before I went on it (I work for a medical journal at present which helps!) because I wanted to know if it was safe as it just sounded too good to be true and also really 'faddy'.

I don't know if it will help your mum to know that there are people (mums!) who have done the programme who were so geeky they checked the science first and found it was safe, but thought I'd share as I really believe LL could be fab for you!

As the others have said though, ultimately this is your decision not your mum's. One of the things a lot of us have learned along the way is to put ourselves first.

    Good luck!!!

Ah, I'm sorry hon. :( We see that alot here, where family is quick to judge.

But the best part of that, is you get to prove them wrong - prove that it is more than a fad diet - that it is a way to address your problems with food. And to get healthy as quickly as possible.

Please don;t let her put you off - its your life - your call.

Just out of curiosity - is your mom heavy? Reason I ask - is it could be her facing her own fears about wieght, and fears of your changing, and her feeling left behind, if you know what I mean. It might jus be shaking her comfort zone? JUst guessing here of course.

But - she would soon see your changes, and start to see you looking healthy and committed and she would soon see this is more than a fad.

Don;t let them get you down!!! Its YOUR life, and YOUR call - and we can make up and lack of support you experience here on this board. We're your LL family, and we're beihind you. :)
