Back to my first love

Having tried to stick to a VLCD and ended up regaining what I lost (my fault not the diets) I've had a rethink. I've been suffering from depression severe anxiety and insomnia since early summer and feel my heads not in the right place for a VLCD. So I've come back to my first love WW.

I'm planning on going to classes but invested in the deluxe pack so I started this week.

Being a Discover expert lol. PP is a lot to take in but I'm getting there though I've turned into one of these folk who are moaning they can't eat their points :)

Seems a wee bit quiet around here. Hope that changes. Looking forward to getting to know my fellow WWers

Hi starlight, I've recently returned to ww too and I'm so glad I did, it's worked for me before and I'm really enjoying being back in control of my eating habits. I'm sorry to hear you have been having a tough time since the beginning of the summer, hope the future will be brighter for you. Good luck with the diet and let us know how you are getting on x

Really pleased for you, I too couldn't get my head into the right space to follow the vlcd after my summer holiday - 1st time is the easiest then wow it's tough.
I love WW :) I struggle with my hubbie as he needs to lose weight too but won't weigh/measure/track and although does ok when at home with me he's terrible at work! No matter how much pack up I give him lol

Good luck and look forward to seeing your progress xx

Think you have made the right decision, good luck x

Hi Sandy

Really pleased you have decided to return to WW. I too suffer from clinical depression and anxiety, VLCDs are not recommended for people with clinical depression as I discovered myself the hard way. I've just restarted WW too, look forward to hearing how you get on xx

Starlight,i,ve just read a thread from 2009 which said you preferred Sw and I just wondered what made you change to WW.It,s just that I,ve done both over the years and its last chance saloon for me! I always seem to be starving all the time on ww and bloated on sw!
Cheers!

That was just an unlucky thread you found lol I did SW for a month or so and just loved it initially then struggled on it and ended up losing nothing. Little wonder mind you when one of the free foods I was enjoying was 1000kcals a portion  My break certainly reinforced for me that WW is the way to go

WW is by far and away my favourite diet, I found SW way too restrictive, I love that absolutely nothing whatsoever is offlimits and is so easy for socialising etc. Youll usually find me fighting the WW corner on SW threads ;)

Lol! Yes i know what you mean-my favourite is pasta and sauces which are 500+ cals per pack and some are free (others are only 1 or 2 syns)!
BUT on WW I was on 26pp and no matter how much I bulked up my meals with veg/salads/fruit etc I was always ravenous!I was always jealous of my friend who was (and still is!) on 42 pp and loses 3-4 lbs a week.I know she will slow down as she loses weight and drops pps but still! Good luck anyway!

Hi Starlight,

i think im going to end up back with WW after ive finished refeed next week. Lost 3.5 stone with Exante but i think that was my limit. Was starting to go a wee bit loopy

Hope WW works out well for you xx

Good luck on WW Starlight - I've done SW in the past (and got to target) but the majority of the weight went back on. WW has been so much easier in my opinion and the losses have been better, probably due to the fact my portions on SW were WAY out. Propoints was a bit fiddly at first but if I can get my head round it I'm sure you'll be fine!

Calculating the PP of everything I think can put folk off but the longer you are on it, the easier it gets and you remember the values of the things you regularly use/scoff!! I swear, I LOVE WW!! No calorie counting and a normal, sensible and sustainable approach to losing weight-yayyyyyy!!!!!

Welcome back. I always remember you being around on the WW boards when I first started posting on minimins a few years ago :)

Welcome Starlight, it's good to have you with us!

I guess all the diets work if you stick to them however it's a matter of finding one that suits you and your lifestyle but I guess you know that ;)

I love the flexibility of weight watchers as you can switch between PP and SF and the SF reminds me so much of Slimming World but with flexibility!

Good luck with your journey! x
