Okay so I've got a cold and at the moment I've got a really bad throat:cry: and can't afford to lose my voice as I have a presentation to do at uni next week. So I have been given some medicated Honey and Lemon Lozenges to stop the swelling in my throat. So I am only taking them when I absoloutly need to so far two today and I am aware they will proberbly knock me out of Ketosis however I am still sticking to sole source 100% and was wondering when my throat is a bit better how long till I till I can get back into ketosis? Thanks in advance emma xxx

You never know and might get away with it as it's a small amount u're having. Have you tried a Ketostix? I know some ppl advice not to get them as you get tempted to test too often but for these sorts of situation I think they'd be useful. I'm on hair & nails supplements (contains oils etc) and it hasn't effected my ketosis.
If it as taken out out of ketosis then I'm guessing it could take up to 2 days to get back in it once you've stopped the lozenges. GL and hope ur throat feels better soon :)

I had laryngitis just after Christmas and took cough syrup for the best part of a week - this did take me out of ketosis but I did find that I went back into mild ketosis the day after I stopped taking the medicine so I wouldnt worry. I think sugar is easier for the body to process than pure carbs - when I went back into Ketosis, it was a lot easier and I didnt have the crap feeling I did the first time around

Thanks for the replies I ordered the Ketostix off amazon on friday night as every chemist I went to told me they only order them when they have a prescription for them??? And I havent had a lozenge since friday either a my throat has been much better just a mild cough now fingers crossed it will be gone soon. So hopefully I'm back in ketosis but will test when the stix arrive to be sure. worrying thing is the lozenges contain 2.5g carbs each accordinging to the box. Oh well at least my throat feels better Thanks again all xxx

Yeah I know but these were the ones I was prescribed also I don't think the sugar in them is such a problem it is more the citric acid and the carbs xxx
