Blood Pressure?

    Does anyone on here suffer from hight BP?
    I have had high reading the past two times on going to the doctors and I have to go bak next week to have it checked again, I am worried about this and was wondering if anyone else has high BP and what they can do about it to help themselves?

    Hi Ellie, You're weight will most probably be the main cause of your hypertension so you are doing the most important thing by dieting. What type of diet are you doing? Be careful to read the salt and fat content of your foods as high salt and fat intake will also increase your BP. If you are exercising with your diet this will also help as it will strengthen your heart.

    Other than diet and exercise the main issues would be smoking or stress so if you smoke you should definitely consider stopping and I assume if you do that your GP would have offered you smoking cessation advice while you were there. If you suffer from stress you might want to consider researching relaxation techniques that work for you.

    I have a lot of problems caused by a low BP and a slow pulse. Think my pulse is 44 bpm on average.
