BMR / BMI / Confused!

Hi All

I'm currently on Celeb Slim with Calorie Counting and Exercise all chucked into the mix using My Fitness Pal. On this app it says I should be having 1200 calories to lose 2 pounds a week.

I'm very confused as my BMR is 1745 plus xing it by 1.2 = 2094. So to lose 2 pounds plus a week I need to eat 1500? And what about when I exercise?

I've been on the 1200 plan for a few weeks now and with a couple of slipups have lost about 8 pounds. Naturally I would like this quicker but I also know how important it is to eat properly.

Anyone else have any ideas here? and what about vlcd where do they come into it?
