Breakfast

Eating breakfast kick starts your metabolism, by not eating your body will be in starvation mode until you eat in the evening and your body will hang on to every calorie it gets as it doesn't know when it's going to be fed next. By having breakfast your metabolism will start up and burn off energy and will need to have regular meals in order to keep it going. Basically think of it like a car, you might be saving fuel by not eating till 5pm, but you're also not getting anywhere by not using it either!

Try having something like porridge, or wholegrain cereal that takes longer to burn off so keeps you fuller for longer.

I find I feel hungrier when I eat breakfast, but Jennyonaplate makes a good point. Didn't have brekkie today as was rushed and found I didn't really feel hungry all morning where normally when I eat breakfast I'm hungry within an hour or two!! Think porridge might be a good idea... could do with feeling fuller for longer!

Yes, I find I get hungry if I have brekkie as well but I recognise it's a good thing to do. I have a banana and an alpen light bar and usually tote along a yogurt or something to have mid-morning as well.

yes i also get more hungry when i eat brekkie, also its a proven fact that people who dont have brekkie are more inclined to eat late into the night so start having regular breakfasts

Ditto everything Jenny said. Breakfast is really the most important meal of the day, as the name suggests its breaking the fast. You're not doing your body any favours by starving yourself until 5 pm.

I would pass out by about 11 if I didn't have my brekkie, porridge in excellent suggestion

It all makes sense now :D
I used to skip breakfast in favour of late night snacking :eek:

And yep, I find breakfast makes me hungry, but now I'm on core I can snack on fruit or salad mid-morning. :)
