Can I eat this on the atkins for my tea??

    Diet:
    Lipotrim
    CHEESY MINCE BAKE
    Calories 352
    Protein 3535g
    Carbs 3g
    Fat 22g
    Fibre 4g

    400g beef mince
    450g mushrooms
    85g cottage cheese
    225g Ricotta cheese
    50g plain flour
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    ½ teaspoon salt
    4 large eggs
    300g grated cheese
    Chopped onion
    Pepper

    Brown the mince and add the onions & mushrooms, season with black pepper
    Mix the cottage cheese and Ricotta cheese thoroughly
    Stir in the flour, baking powder and salt
    Add the eggs a little at a time until well mixed
    Stir in the mince & mushrooms
    Add the grated cheese to the mixture, leave a little of the cheese to sprinkle on the top
    Place in baking tray and bake for 45 minutes

    Would this be allowed, it tastes gorgeous, it's a Celeb Slim Recipe

    Yes you can hun (as long as you make enough for me!) just count in the carbs to your daily allowance. You might want to post it on the recipe thread too.

    check the flour its almost 100% carb

    cottage cheese not allowed on induction either, read the Atkins books does say

    Im soooo sorry i did not read it properly and totally missed the flour, thanks for picking up in it Stephen. And the cottage cheese i dont eat so just presumed. Again, sorry.

    and the onion ,very high in carbs



    have you tried cheeseburger pie , its similar to that and a firm fave on here


    Cheeseburger Pie
    Total carbs 9c. Serves 4
    Ingredients:
    500g minced beef
    50g finely chopped onion
    150g chopped mushrooms
    100mls double cream
    2 heaped tablespoons of mayo
    150g strong cheddar grated
    3 eggs
    salt & pepper to taste


    Fry mince, onion and mushrooms together until cooked season to taste, drain off fat, add Lee & Perrins sauce.
    Place in a greased foil covered deep pie dish, flatten with spoon.
    Beat eggs add mayo, cream and cheese.
    Pour over the top of mince, bake in oven Gas mark 5 for 20 to 25 mins until set and golden brown.
    Leave to cool before taking out of pie dish, remove foil.
    Cut in to portions and wrap in cling film
    This freezes very well.
    Lovely with salad, cauli mash, or stir fry (Great in lunchboxes)

    Optional 1 Tablespoon Lea & Perrins

    Very true Jo but could always have scallions or spring.

    but by the time you take out the cottage cheese , flour , baking powder which is carby , you more or less have cheesburger pie

    and it's soooooooo yummy , i'm having it again tomorrow x

    yes cb pie is by far a huge fav in this house. Or replace the topping with cauli mash and cheese

    the faux shepherds pie PUSH i made mine with a few spices in ie cumin and chilli

    nice in mince or mince balls lovely smoky taste got mine from a show at the nec but try ebay loads for sale on there
