New Year New Me
I’m not sure which plan I’m following; hence the title.

I’m hoping it mostly EE; from next week I will be updating daily.

I started my weight loss journey in late march, so far i have lost 2stone 1lb. I was 23stone 5lbs and now I am 21stone 4lbs.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Monday 11/6/12


Breakfast: 2 slices bread, toasted from 400g, Tin Baked beans.

Lunch: Had tooth out.

Dinner: Tin Heinz soup, Sliced Ham

Snacks: None

Tuesday 12/6/12

Breakfast: Mango chunks, 2 slices white bread, Tesco's coarse Pate (?)

Lunch: Chicken breast with side salad

Dinner: Coleman’s Lemon & Herb seasoning for chicken (I had turkey), 2 onions, pepper, courgettes and tin toms; seasoning (Schwartz Italian garlic, salt and pepper

Snacks: 2 Apples

Drinks – Black coffee, 2 Diet Pepsi

Wednesday 13/6/12

Breakfast: 2 Quorn sausages, Bacon, Tom and Eggs

Lunch: 3 slices wholemeal bread, Very low fat Mayonnaise, Ham and tomato

Dinner: 1 Co-op Gammon Steak (?), grilled in George foreman, Batchelors savoury golden vegetable rice, Pineapple.

Snacks: none

I have more success with slimming world then i ever did with weight watchers.

I've always been a 'big girl' but it wasn't until i married and had a couple of kids that the weight piled on.

Are you doing this from home? With the EE plan you have to have 1/3 of every meal as super free foods so if you have a jacket potato and baked beans then you need to have a plate of salad or veg or fruit as well. Also try and have your HEA and B a day as this is needed for your health x

Yes i am doing this from home, can you tell?

There are days when i don't feel hungry at all, i'm trying to increase my superfree but it's a slow progress.

Monday 18/6/12

Breakfast: 2 slices wholemeal bread, toasted (Hexb), garlic & mushrooms fried in frylight
Lunch: 2 Quorn Sausages (2) 2 eggs fried in frylight and Baked beans
Dinner: Beef stew with potatoes, green beans, carrots, onions with bisto beef with shallots gravy (2)

Been a better day today, have tried to include more free and super free choices in my menu.

Breakfast: 2 quorn sausages (2), mushrooms, mixed herbs, 3 eggs scrambled, 2 sliced wholemeal toast (400g)

Lunch: Chicken thighs with melted cheese, plain rice with side salad

Dinner: Ham Salad (2 little gem, cucumber and cherry tomatoes) with very low fat mayonnaise (1), Mullerlight yogurt with banana

Snacks: 2 Apples, strawberries, sugar free jelly

HEXB: wholemeal bread

Drinks – Black coffee, 2 Diet Pepsi, squash

Had to go to tesco today to buy more fruit and veg; i over did it a bit, but i know it will get eaten. I also found a lot of item that i think i might try especially the packet of couscos; i've only tried it once but it was already made.

Having a go at the syn free chicken biryani tonight. Hope it works out ok.
 
Sorry for not posting last night; went out for a two hour walk can’t remember much after 5 o’clock.

I started my weight loss journey with weight watchers; I wasn’t having much success with them; I stuck with it for two months in the end I gave up. It wasn’t until I was searching through e-bay that I found the Slimming worlds books. I placed a bid and won my starter kit; and I haven’t looked back since.

The first week I lost 5lbs. I was surprised when I stepped on the scales I had never lost 5lbs in one week before; not all at once. After that it was a steady 2lbs until this month where it has been STS and lost, STS and lost again. I took the advice of ‘Pommette’ and started a diary.

Back in January my Oh brought me the Wii fit and balance board. I have increased my exercise in the last two week; I can’t do much as I have a bad hip, I know when I overdo it my hip gives me hell. My OH takes me out walking in the local parks near where we live; we have also looked into going swimming.

At the moment our local swimming pool has closed down for refurbishment, so we went out looking for a another swimming pool that doesn’t do lane swimming; luckily we found one after only going to one pool. We start next week if everything goes according to plan.

Didn’t do very much today hips hurting a lot. Overdid the exercise, walking and the Wii fit. Must listen to my body more, the sooner I start swimming the better!!

I have been using a Pedometer for the past week. I am not doing anywhere near the 10,000 that the government recommends; but it’s a start.

Today I have done 5065.

The OH took me out for a walk today and we walked 1.5km; I’m not entirely sure how far that is in miles, but it took us two hours.

When I can’t go out I go on the Wii; I usually do steps, jogging and some yoga. It helps to take my step on the pedometer up!!

Tired after my walk didn’t do a lot for dinner; it was a quickie.

Breakfast: Banana with Mullerlight yogurt
Lunch: Walker’s crisps (7); little ham
Dinner: Chicken thigh, Campbell low fat mushroom soup (7/2=3 ½), mushrooms and plain boiled rice
Snacks: Linda McCartney sausages, sugar free jelly

Walked to Tesco again, I think I make this a weekly commitment; my OH insists that I take someone with me just in case I fall.

Forgot to put on my pedometer again! Couldn’t go out for a walk because its raining, hopefully the weather will be nice tomorrow for a walk.

Chicken Risotto Milanese
(Adapted from chicken dishes from quick & easy by Parragon)
Serves 4
As far as I know this is syn free on EE


Frylight
900g chicken, sliced thinly
1 large onion, chopped
500g Arborio rice (risotto)
600ml chicken stock
1 tsp crumbled saffron
salt and pepper
60g grated Parmesan cheese, to serve


Heat frylight in a deep frying pan, and fry chicken and onions until golden brown

Add the rice to the frying pan, stir well and cook for 15 minutes

Heat the stock until boiling and gradually add to the rice. Add the saffron, salt and pepper and mix well. Simmer gently for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally and adding more stock if the risotto becomes too dry.

Add a little more stock and simmer for 10 minutes. Leave the risotto to stand for 2-3 minutes just before serving, Serve the risotto, sprinkled with the grated Parmesan cheese.

Going out for another walk today, just to see if I can manage two walks in a row. Went to Mayfield park again; it’s nice and quite there, found the nurseries had some nice plants for sale; didn’t buy any. Made the most of the weather; at least its not raining cats and dogs!!!

Feeling really tired today, the walk yesterday must have knocked me out, fell asleep after tea work up at 1am and went back to sleep until 8am. I ache something rotten.

Woke up cold today, after breakfast I played my Steps DVD did an hour; it was certainly different from the Wii.

Today when I woke my knees were still painful. Weather miserable, I was hoping to go for a walk.

I was rather cold so I cooked one of Pete’s soups leek & potato. It was lovely.

I was going to walk to tesco by it rained very heavy so my OH took me in the car, while I was there I noticed my pedometer wasn’t where it was supposed to be; I was freaking out that I had lost it. When I returned home I found it; it had fallen off while I was sitting at the table phew! So my steps won’t be as high as I hoped.

Going out for another walk today. Went to Swanwick Lakes it was pouring. It was nice there; but next not when it’s raining I got drenched. I didn’t do much for the rest of the day.

Woke up feeling cold today; must be from the drenching I got yesterday. I don’t ache as much as I thought I would after the walk yesterday.

It’s going to be a busy day today, foot clinic this morning, coming home and doing lunch and this afternoon I’m going swimming. Had a KFC for tea bad, bad, bad; loads of syns

Cold again today, been busy catching up with the housework. I’m glad I didn’t go out for a walk it been pouring all day.
