Sugar free gum is not strictly allowed but if you have to chew, chew for a little while and spit it out...is the recommendation on some other vlcd's.

The thinking behind no chewing gum is that it stimulates the release of gastric juices which in turn will make you feel hungry.

Just to remind you, there is no aspartame in Exante but there is in some of the sugarless chewing gums, if you google it you might find a list of the chewing gums to avoid.

I had the occasional piece of chewing gum but did find it made me hungry so I stopped. It was nice having the minty taste though.

there are listerine strips which you can have they are like a very small sheet which sits on your tongue and melts and is a strong peppermint flavour in your mouth. you can chew sugar free gum however when you chew your stomach thinks you are eating which gives you the painful hunger bangs as its not processing anything. i suggest the listerine strips hun, good luck xx
