Christmas Dinner

    Hi everyone

    I was just wondering if I would be able to have some turkey Bacon for Christmas dinner - I am in week 3 and don't want to knock myself out of Ketosis

    Obviously I want be having Potatoes or anything to bad - I really don't want to gain any weight as I'm only in week 3

    Together we lost 8 stone on CD.
    I would think some turkey breast and steamed vegetables would be best. I'm sure a CDC will be along to advise the best Xmas dinner version to keep you in ketosis. You are wise to plan in advance and not want to get kicked out on your third week as it could be tricky to get back on track.

    Sure more replies will come along in time. Think everyone tied up with last minute Xmas plans chores or that pesky Arcade at the moment. I get to this close to Xmas and give up I think if it's not done yet, tough! I'm close to goal and so will be eating at Xmas but if I wasn't I think I would enjoy the challenge of sticking to a plan and feel really proud to have done so. i would probably brag for the rest of my life about the Xmas I was on CD.

    Hi, I'd stay clear of the turkey bacon - it's quite high in salt and preserved in nitrites. Neither of these help weight loss.

    I think you'd be better of with some turkey and some veg.

    Just think about next Christmas when you schmoose in wearing a great little black dress.:) Oh, and read icemoose's blog - the bit about Christmas is really useful.

    Turkey and veg is deffo the best option, Bacon will make you retain water.

    Thing is, next year you can have some bacon, and the year after and the year after .............

    One year to miss it, is the best for the future x

    *shouts through megaphone* Stay away from the bacon, Nicola! :cool:

    If you must eat on Christmas Day, stick to white turkey meat and green veg only or you will almost certainly knock yourself out of ketosis. The Weight Care with Cambridge book (the yellow one) lists the recommended veggies on the 790 cal plan page so, if you can, stick to those.

    I don't think i will eat as you said "canireallydothis" there is always next year or even the middle of the year !!!!!!

    I'm so glad you're enjoying Minimins and getting the support you need from here too and am dead proud of you for making the decision not to eat this year! Good on ya!! There'll be loads of other Christmasses .. and this time next year when you're a skinny minny you'll be wondering what you were getting so anxious about :D
