So just an interesting thought and a few questions for you all

What had you planned to do about eating at Christmas?
    What did you actually do?
How much did you gain/lose over that period?
How did you feel at the time?
    How do you feel now?

    Ok I'll go first:
-I'd planned to eat Christmas Eve evening and Christmas day
    - I actually ate from my last WI until Tuesday 28th, fell off the wagon again over new year as well
-I gained 10lbs over the two weeks. I lost 4.5 before new year's eating, maintained and now have 5.5 to lose to be back at my pre Xmas session
-at the time I didn't care, I decided sod it, it's my favourite time of year, worry about it in the new year
-now I don't really regret it. I don't regret the eating just wish I hadn't fallen off the wagon again at New Year and am just a bit miffed I'm where I was a month ago. But I'm back to my usual routine and it's a new year and a fresh start

    Xx

    Great post !

I planned .. to do 1000 plan from monday 20th to christmas day then eat whatever on christmas day and boxing day , 1000 plan from then till new years eve then 1 day off and back on plan new years day ......

I did .. the 3million calorie plan from monday 20th till sunday 2nd Jan .... We had soooo many social gatherings , meals out etc I just decided to have the 2 weeks off ... and I gained ......(drum roll) ........
    18 lb :eek::eek:

However I got back on SS on Sunday and have lost 11 lb so far in those 4 days !! so a lot of the gain was water and I should have most of it off by mondays weigh n and the rest off the following week .

I dont regret it as such , i do wish I hadnt gone quite so mad , as I was quite close to goal .. but I am in no rush and will get there eventually !!!!

I planned to SS all over christmas...

i did SS christmas day, but boxing day ate my weight in turkey and gammon!

had pigs in blankets and some chocolate gateaux! oh and a roastie!

new year eve i drank a bottle of wine, and ate a bowl of chille...

i managed some how to loose 1lb the day after boxing day, and 5lbs after new year, and hav since lost even more total of 11lbs, which i expect was water weight!

so turns out, chocolate gateaux has magical powers!

    xxxxxxx

i planned to continue my 810 but have crimbo day off.
    ER - NO!
Had crimbo eve/day and boxing day off - put on 5lbs
Restarted on the 28th/29th and lost 3lbs
THEN blew it all on the 3oth/31st/1st/2nd and 3rd and gained 10lbs

Of all the food I ate, I felt bloaty and sick at the end of every night - soooo not worth it for the yukky feeling.

Im on day 2 of my restart and dont regret it because I enjoyed it and I am now refocussed

i had my final weigh in on the 20th dec.

i planned on staying on the 810 until christmas eve and then i was having xmas eve, xmas day and boxing day off. then new years eve off....

in reality ems went into hospital 20th and i followed my plan, 21st i had stayed overnight in hospital and the option for brekkie was toast or cereal. i had 3 slices of toast as i was starving and several coffees. then i tried to get back on my shakes and was mostly ok but kept having a few nice things after a day of shakes. one day i had a costa muffin, another i had some crisps.

i did have christmas eve, christmas day and boxing day off but i couldn't get back on plan on the 27th. we were still at hubby's parents and i felt miffed about getting back on plan so i took the day off then i took the 28th off too and had a take out that evening.

back on plan wednesday 29th, 30th and most of 31st but fell off 810 plan for 31st evening and had some crisps and a bottle of wine and some nuts. also had some chocs too. could have been worse as i could have had a take out again with my hubby and my dad but i decided to stick to my 810 meal.

went back on plan on the 1st and was miffed about it. since then i've had a cheese cravings. so i'm following the 810 but have snacked a little on cheese. need to stop it. i was going to totally stop today but i've had some bad news and my mum's leg has to be amputated below the knee. we knew this was coming since september but it is now reality as there's no more they can do to try to save the leg.

i put on about 10lbs and lost most of it on the 2 1/2 days following my 810 plan, put on a bit on the 31st and then lost some more on the 1st and 2nd before my weigh in on the 3rd which showed a 1/2lb gain over xmas. i was very lucky to gain so little. today i want to eat the house contents - see below, but i know it won't help so i am making a decision not to eat anything else, have had some cheese. :(

    TMI - WARNING!
ladies.... this is what happens when you are overweight and become diabetic, a story about my mum. just one knock and she developed an ulcer. then she knocked it and it grew and got infected. then she was in agony. on morphine for pain since september. she had a toe amputated from her other foot in september. then her foot was bandaged too tightly and this cause a 2nd ulcer on the top of her right foot which is infected and the antibiotics are not working. she is now loosing her leg.

    Thanks for all the replies
They've been really interesting to read. Amazing how we all fell of the wagon.

And well done for losing it all so quickly.

I'm on day 3 of restart, am a slow loser, but have lost 5.5 lbs so not too bad I suppose.
Just 2 more lbs to go to be at the same weight I was at my last WI

I was doing calorie counting at the time and planne dto stick to that other than Christmas Day, Boxing day and 27th.

I ate non stop for all of December. I gained 7lb.

I am now back on CD 810 plan to shift the weight and get back in control of my food again.

I plan to have no more breaks until my half marathon on 8th May. I really really hope I can lose another 50lb by then.
