considering starting..loads of questions!

hey all,
Ive heard of this for a short while, someone that comes into my work (a deli) is on it; we put him salads together and its interesting seeing what he can and cant eat.
Ive been playing around trying to get back into the VLCDs and then trying some fasting..
but I like the sound of this, I think I need a full overhaul of what I eat and just need some new ideas, new principles etc etc!
I hear red wine is ok? this makes me happy if true! and dark chocolate?
do I need to buy the book to fully understand it all or could I get by without? Id like to try a week or so to get a feel for it first.
I think I read once that you can include some fasting? and having large meals once a day sometimes? I prefer not to snack and/or eat 3 meals a day. Ive been forcing myself to eat breakfast and I swear its just making me fatter!
anyway,, any advice, tips, answers anyone's got would be great :]

Marks Sissons book the primal blueprint is the best way to get to grips with it all if you ask me.... although it is all on the website I think....
