    Today's Menu: 21/0512

Breakfast: 2 dry fried eggs, turkey bacon, oat bran galette

Lunch: salmon baked with Moroccan spices and lemon zest

    Dinner: Roast Chicken

4 cups of tea (this is quite restrained for me! And will probably drink more teas as the day goes on)
    2 litres of water
I would normally only have a galette for breakfast but was extra hungry today.

I suppose I should introduce myself, I'm Katie and I orignally started Dukan in December two days before my fortieth. I have however lapsed recently. I did manage to get down to 10 stone 5lb but over the last 6 weeks small slips have led to larger ones and my weight has gone back up to 10 stone 11lb. I have now decided I am not going to let this continue and I am currently on day 4 of a 4 day attack and feeling very positive.

I have been reading this forum since December and would like to say that everyone on here is an inspiration. Although I do feel like I have been diet-stalking you all. I decided to join because I felt it might make me more accountable if other people are reading my diary.

Like everyone on this site I have had varying degrees of success with every diet out there, I do however, believe that Dukan works for me when I stick to the plan and in truth I like the restriction compared to ww and sw.

    Thank you for reading

    Today's Menu 22/05/12

Breakfast: oat bran galette 2 cups of tea, one glass of water.

The rest of the day will be as follows:

Lunch: Egg drop soup with chicken and crab stick, made with Chinese 5 spice and chilli flakes.

Dinner: Turkey burgers and poached eggs

Lots of water and more tea.

Was going to move onto cruise today but realise that I ate a tolerated item on Sunday, cornflour in the sweet chilli sauce. So I have decided to give it another day of attack to compensate for this. Any thoughts on this? Good idea? Bad idea? All advice is welcome.

you dont have a lot to lose so doing an extra day wont make a difference really, the real weight loss is in the next phase

Ellie thank you for the sensible advice, I know you're absolutely right (having read your diary I realise you are a dukan expert). Very impressive weightloss btw, not that you need me to tell you that. I will follow your advice and make today my first PV day and add in spring onions and tomatoes to my lunch and asparagus to my dinner. Thanks again for the helpful advice.

Thanks for the welcome Jo, everyone seems really helpful and friendly on here. Even when I was just reading/stalking I found everyone's knowledge really helpful and tend to refer to this site before I check my book as it seems to be more up to date with all the changes in the dukan diet. I have also found it really useful for recipes. I've even converted my two teenagers to the joys of butternut and celeriac mash.:)

I'm ok thank you, apart from getting my knickers in a twist when I realised that I'd eaten one tolerated item during my attack, which made me think I need to do another day. I know I'm a bloody control freak. But Ellie1969 kindly set me straight so I have had some lovely veg instead and really enjoyed it. :D I'm having asparagus and poached eggs and a homemade turkey burger for dinner, so looking forward to that. Everyone else is having a cheeky chippy dinner and I can honestly say I'm not even tempted...I have a will of iron!! The weather has been beautiful again today, I've drunk plenty of water and even done some exercise, so all in all it's been a good dukan day. How are things with you? Good I hope.:)

I agree don't let one set back upset you! Drink loads of water and keep going, we have all made mistakes but you live and learn! I don't like ham so I'm ok with not having it, but I am also surprised how I'm not very hungry and my other half has goodies all the time but I'm not really fussed! Shock horror I used to unhinge my jaw and eat everything in the room lol!!

Don't worry about it it will only put pressure in you which you don't want!

I'm doing good, had a cake and soup on Sunday after my run but didn't throw the towel in which I usually would have done! I worked hard and thought well there's worse to eat than soup!! I've been back in it ever since, just making chillie for dinner yuuuuuum!!!
The air con broke today on the warmest day in Glasgow so sweated myself into a puddle lol deep steeping in a bath for me!!

As an alternative to ice cream have you tried mixing 0% yoghurt and sf jelly to make a mousse and then freezing, it's tasty and you can add as much or as little jelly as you choose depending on how you like it. Or just flavouring and yoghurt and freezing it.

Sorry just realised that might seem a bit random but I saw on another thread that hot weather was making you want something cool and refreshing.

Also surely your run will probably have cancelled out the cake and the soup, as you will have continued to burn calories even after you'd finished because you would have been using all your muscles at the same time I think it's to do with EPOC can't remember what it stands for but that is the essence of it. I will have to consult google.

Pfffft the boyfriend has just appeared in the living room with a plateful of malt loaf covered in butter, so I am taking my will of iron and going to bed before I cave in. Tbh not that bothered by the malt loaf but I would have happily licked the butter off it, I know it's a sad sad addiction but I am staying strong. Lol Good night all x
