Hi all, as I'm sure some of you are aware, I Started slimmers world back in May when I weighed 20st, first week lost 10lb and then it all slowed down and I joined this site and posted the thread where am I going wrong. http://www.minimins.com/slimming-world/277924-where-am-i-going-wrong.html

Thanks to the wonderful encouragement you all gave me on there, I've managed to be this working for me again and have lost 2st 7.5lbs in 2 months.

Anyway I was posting each weekly update in the above post, which of course is in the wrong place, so I'm now going to start this diary, and if anyone is still intrested I will be posting weekly updates about my journey here.

hey Cowboy! just subscribing here :) ur a great inspiration!! fantastic weightloss! really really well done! :)

Ok well here I am, and now I'm started to think about the next stage of my slimming world journey, Body Magic.

Now this for me is something else, as I've been rather large for a blooming long time, exercise isn't really one of my favorate things in life. Hell when I was in the military I even used to bribe the PTI's to pass me on my fitness test. ( it's amazing how well you can pass with the right case of beer ) ;)

Anyway new weight loss new me, my main focus is my beer gut, that while is all bought and paid for, and I did have a great time getting it, isn't really me anymore. So looking online at mo for any good exercises that will help that disappear, while yes it is significantly smaller since I started here, it's still on the big side and I could well get some excess skin after I lose all the weight which I really don't want. Was planning on a rowing and cycling machine.

Before anyone mentions it though, I do know joining a gym would be the best route however

A. It costs money which I do t have at mo.
B. I really do not feel comfy in those places. Hell I havnt even been swimming in 15 years because of how I look.

So for the moment it's home excercise and walks near home, luckily have some stunning woodland right behind the house.

Fingers crossed I don't give myself a heart attack. Think my body may get upset when I start excerising it :)

Thats it's for now all.

Cowboy10uk

oo i feel exactly the same about the gym...... i swear i have a phobia lol i know people probably too busy themselves to look at me but i swear they are lol and all those mirrors...eurghhhh *shudders*
i should do some body magic really but even the thought of it tires me out!! lol
so are you gong to buy a cycle and rowing machine?? .or a bike? lol
lucky you to have the woodland :) wow would love a woodland walk, near me it fields fields and more fields!! which is great for walking i suppose but scenery gets quite boring!! lol xXx

Well I have a bike in the shed, bought it 3 years ago, when I planned to start riding the 7 miles to work. Ummmmmm. Don't think it's ever been out :) and of course I have a excercise bike that currently doubles as a clothes rail at the moment. Always have these great ideas, but they don't seem to work out. However I'm hoping with the diet, that will encourage me to get my lazy butt doing some excercise. Think the last time I rode a bike was when I was working in Cambridge, and swapped the car for a bike as the traffic was murder.

Cowboy10uk

working in cambridge? lol where do u live? i live in ramsey (cambs)so i deffo know what the traffic is like in cambridge! lol
i think the only way to geton with the exercise is just force urself to do it! dust down ur bike and get on it, is the woodland near you suitable for bike rides? actually sounds lovely in the light summer evenings (minus the rain!! ) or stick ur clothes rail in front of the tv...think i should do that... i only watch soaps but thats a good hour or so a night i could be getting exercise..maybe i should get myself 1! lol
doe sur wife have a bike? could you go on rides together? x

I lived in Brampton, and worked on the airport for 3 years. Loved that commute down the 14 everyday, but kept a bike in the shed at the offices so I could pop between sites. :)

Yep there are lots of bike tracks near us. Now in Staffordshire and live in Cannock chase. So lots of wildlife, not to mention deer eating my garden plants ;)

I think you're right though, I just need to get my butt in gear and get out there on the thing. Think I'm going to move exercise bike into the living room, then sit and pedal while watching my Fav program's.

Mmmmm well it was going well.

However the entire shift are have chippy for tea, and I may have crumbled.......

Sat outside the chippy for 5 mins before I caved though.

Guess I'll continue my losing next week.

It was worth it though :)

Well weigh ins done, and as expected only .5lb off never mind though it's still an off and is going the right way. Hardly surprising after a 14 hr shift where all there was to eat was crisps, biscuits, cakes and pizza and then to top it all off, chippy supper yesterday.

However, my sweet tooth has been satisfied, new week back on plan hopefully. Just got to plan a little better and resist the temptation.

Going to go for 2 lbs, but would rather get 4 or more. Not sure if it's doable, but ive done it before so let's go for it. Next week, I WILL be under 17 st.

On another note, going to buy new jeans on Sat. 2 sizes smaller and not only that, I'm able to buy them from a high street instead of specialist fat bugger web sites. :) not been able to do that for years. :)

well done on the loss!!! as u say its in the right direction! and especially after all that munch (which sounds lovely btw ;) lol) i rekon i would have put on just smelling that! lol

good luck for this week :) its so exciting when u get a smaller number at the beginning isnt it :D

have fun jeans shopping :D im too scared to try smaller jeans yet even though my old ones are too big im not ready for the confidence knock if i couldnt do em up lol so ill stay in my bigger jeans for a lil longer hhaha.

did u get out on ur bike? i went out on a bike ride yesterday, 1st time in....pass lol but hubby lent my bike to someone so i had to use his BMX and ouch!! may as well as not had a seat on it!! n my ass if deffo paying for it this morning!! lol xXx

Hi all, another quick update, Very sorry it's a little late, had to get straight to work after the meeting and I didn't get a chance to post.

Well after one hectic week, miles of walking, and trying to do the plan 100% after last weeks very low loss, I managed to get 4lbs off. Have to admit, it was the hardest 4lbs since I started this plan. No idea why, but I really really struggled to get through the 17st barrier. However at least that one is now past, and I can carry on, although I really hope the struggle I had last week isn't a sign of things to come. Otherwise these last 4 st are going to be a right bugger to lose.

I appreciate ive been rather lucky with my weight loss upto now, I never thought I would have almost lost 3 st in 3 months when I joined, but I would like that sort of weight loss to continue. ;) it's bloody hard work when you have to think about it. :)

Fingers crossed my body's back on track and things get easy again.

But at least the hard work was worth it. Slimmer of the week and Slimmer of the month award. :D

Speak again soon everyone.

Keep up the great work

Hi there Loolahoop, well just got back from weigh in and I've finally done it, and got that damn 3st award. :) 3.5lbs off this week. So much better than the .5lb i lost last week. I must say that last stone was a hell of a slog. I really hope things speed up again, otherwise the last 4 stone is gonna take blooming ages.

I really must confessed to not doing it correctly this week. I got so focused on that damn 3 st that I took to hardly eating, in case I put anything on. I know , I know by not eating my body dosnt loss weight, but well it worked ;)

Gonna think about doing something different for breakfast, I'm tending to have a bowl of weetabix bran and strawberrys at mo, which of course uses up my A and B choice for the day, and I must admit to craving my bread with my main meal so I'm gonna have that as a B choice and find something else for Breakfast.

The next goal I'm setting myself is 16st by end of month. 7.5lbs - hopefully if I put my mind to it, I will get there.

Just enjoying hairy dieters at the mo, these guys are having so e great ideas and most should work with slimming world.

Just noticed, my BMI is finally below 30. I'm not only no longer morbidly obese, or even Obese. I'm officially classed as only overweight. :D

ahh thats brilliant!! i was sooo happy when i was no longer obese!! i know what u mean about it taking ages!! ive lost 4.5lb in six weeks! getting bored of these 0.5lbs lol n i still got 3.5lb until my 2.5st award! i havent heard of the hairy dieters...whats that? breakfast...do u enjoy a cooked b/fast? could u not have eggs. bacon, low syn sausage and tinned toms and mushrooms? my fave b/fast lol and that would save u ur healthy extras, or the magic/syn free pancakes with yogurt and fruit?
doing well though keep up the good work :)

Hi mate, congrats on the loss, slow and steady but it's it keeps going in the correct direction. :) Although I am aware how frustrating it is and nope I don't listen to my own advice ;) I just get wound up.

Hairy Dieters is a new series on BBC 2 I think from those great tv cooks the Hairy Bikers. It's on Thursdays at 8. Basiclly since cooking for a living they have both put on quite a few stones and they have hit that turning point that all of us who want to lose weight remember. So they are showing how to cook their normal roast, casseroles, cooked breakfasts and pies etc but healthily. While it does appear that it's more towards calory counting, quite a few recipes should be free on Slimming world. They have alo realised a recipe book which has all the meals in it. Very good, got some great ideas.

Cant recommend the program enough, also helps I'm a Hugh fan of there's anyway ;)

As to Breakfast, main issue is it has to be cold, and able to be made and eaten in five mins. Due to starting work at silly o clock in the morning I need to take it with me and eat in the morning briefing. I'll admit I'm just doing without at mo, then acing a load of strawberries at 8ish to get me going, and lots of coffee.

As to my BMI, yep I'm almost floating at the mo, telling everyone :) I never thought I could ever get out of the Mobidly Obese category, Let alone the Obese, sure I'm still the top end of Overweight, BUT I am only Overweight now. :) never thought such a simple and too be honest rather trival thing in the grand scheme to feel so great. :) Next step will be Healthy.

Think I might have to take photo ID next time I have my works medical, as the ******* will think I've sent someone
Else in my place. :D

If I had a quid every time, I was told that about breakfast I would be a very wealthy man. ;)

Nope I've not tried that, but I will tomorrow.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi all, the latest update, another 5lbs off and slimmer of the week again. Really happy, havnt been this light since 1998 I believe.

Looks like cutting down my syns to 5 - 10 is really working, no major cravings which was good, and I still managed to enjoy a beer the other day, all in all a good week. I have 2 weeks to hit my goal of being below 16st by end of the month. Fingers crossed it will happen.

I hope everyone else and especially Loolahoop have also Managed a good loss this week.

hey :) massive well done on that huge loss!!! u must have been grinning from ear to ear!! oh i rekon u can hit ur target by the end of the month, u r doing amazingly!
i sooo wanted 2lb of this week, will take to a healthy BMI, in the next stone zone AND my 2.5st award, but cant see it happening :( will see what scales say tomorrow :) if not then ill have it all next week! no rush eh! as long as it comes of eventually and doesnt go back on ill be a happy bunny! :)

did u do anything diferent this week to get a loss like that? or was it lowering ur syns? x

Nope nothing really different, I just lowered my syns to between 5 - 10. Which seemed to work. :) yep you're right I was grinning like a Cheshire cat all evening, although not expecting anything this week.

Due to working 14 hr days in an environment where they supplied the food and you couldn't bring any yourself, I have spent the last 3 days, living on crap, biscuits, chocolate, Crisps and bread, lots of bread. I'm pretty sure those who were making the packed lunches have never heard of healthy eating. So think I've eaten my syns for the next two months let alone the week.

Just hoping the fact I was on my feet pretty much the whole time, will make some difference and I can at least stay the same this week or at the very most only put a pound on.

Now that's over, rest of week will be severe optimisation to try and limit the damage as much as possible. Only saving grace is I'm working lates so will miss the class of Thurs, so have another week to try and turn it around.

I will keep my fingers crossed or your last couple of pounds, I bet it will be a stunning feeling to get the bmi into the healthy range. I know you will do it, just keep focused and take your time, if for whatever reason it dosnt come this week, well it will come the next. Good luck and a Huge well done for getting to this point.
