Before slimming world I used to love mushroom stroganoff (the colmans pack made with milk) I'm trying to think up something similar low syn and I thought this, think it'll work?
Fry light mushrooms and an onion
Add HEXB of Philly light with garlic/herbs melted down with a dash of milk and serve with rice?

I make this using a pre packaged sauce.......

Pete’s Mushrooms in a Creamy Sauce-2

Serves 4

125g button mushrooms, sliced (s)(sff)
1 onion, finely chopped (s)(sff)
1 Tsp “very lazy” garlic (sff)
1 Tsp “very lazy” ginger
1 Schultz garlic, mushroom & cream sauce (4.5 Syn/4 =< 2 Syn)
300mL skimmed milk (6 Syn/4=< 1.5 Syn)
100g Couscous (ff)
200mL water
Knorr “veg” stockpot
2 smoky bacon rashes cut into small pieces (ff)

Method

Mix a little milk with the sauce mix in a small pan until all lumps are removed, continue to add the milk, place on a low light and bring to the boil, stir until thickened, put to one side.
Make up the couscous by adding the water to the stockpot & covering the couscous, mix & cover with Clingfilm, set aside for 10 mins. Fluff up before serving.

Spray a pan with Fry Light and add the onion, bacon, garlic & ginger, cook for 5 mins add chopped mushrooms and cook until the mushrooms are cooked, add sauce and cook for a further 5 mins, season and serve with the Couscous.

I find that onions are nicer cooked in the Microwave. Chop up the onion and put in a micro safe dish and cover with water, crumble in a stock cube and cook until the onions are soft - 5 mins + then use them as normal. If you want them dry micro until water has gone so you keep the stock "taste"

Cook the mushrooms, add the onions leaving a little stock and then the Philly cheese. ( I put the garlic and herbs in the micro with the onions). No extra Syns

Does this make 2 servings?

If so is the Syn calculation a typing error -

"1 Schultz garlic, mushroom & cream sauce (4.5 Syn/4 =< 2 Syn)
300mL skimmed milk (6 Syn/4=< 1.5 Syn)"

It seems to be divided by 4, just checking as don't want to make it if it's actually 5.5 Syns lol
Thanks

Hi Laura_cook.
It should be 4 servings, I changed the recipe after the original & forgot that I had changed the servings! The sauce is 4.5syn/4= <2 syn (actual 1.125 syn ). You could use your milk as a Hea..

Thank you for clearing that up! It looks a yummy sauce for just 2 1/2 Syns or 1 1/4 Syns and 1 HEA which would be perfect for me as I havnt managed to use my HEA's all this week
