Well I have made it to day five and I cannot quite beleive it! I have felt no where near as hungry today so I guess the whole ketosis thing is kicking in now?! I'm even due a shake and I'm not too fussed so I might wait until I get a hunger pang before I have it!

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for being so nice and supportive! I definitely wouldn't be on day five without you all! My first weigh in is in 2 days and I can't wait to see how I've got on.

This is a little off topic but I just wanted to ask people how their families find them being on this extreme diet? I have to say my family is not the most supportive in the world. They love me and want the best for me of course but they think this diet is 'nonsense' and keep saying I'll pile the weight on afterwards and it's expensive and a waste of money etc. The most bugging one I keep hearing is how this diet is 'terrible' for the body and the body shouldn't go without food. Any ideas how I get around this? It's making me quite flat and I actually dread going round to see relatives such as my Dad and Stepmother who try to make me have milk in me tea and give me biscuit saying 'one won't hurt' and 'you won't put on any weight having ONE biscuit'. It's draining!

    Rant over! xxxxx

Hi hun.. yey day 5 egh! im on day 3 at the min and my hunger has started to go thank god. Got a minging cold at the min, but im gunna stick through it. In regards to ure question about family, ive had the opposite with my family. But here is one thing to say to them if they say the diet is bad for the body just say " well being obese is bad for the body too" normally shuts them up, ive used it a few times with friend lol

Haha! That definitely sounds like a good one! I will give it a go. I just don't like feeling as though I'm being sabbotaged! My boyfriend is AMAZING, as is his whole family. One of my Nan's is great. It's really just my Dad, Stepmum, other Nan and sometimes my Mum. I guess they're just worried but I've given them all the info to read. I don't think they understand just how depressed my weight makes me. xx

Your pharmacist wouldn't support it if it didn't work. Way I see it is I owe it to myself to try, and I'll decide whether it works or not, not other people.

The thing is you will pile it back on if you go back to eating what you were that makes sense.... but like you say people don't undertand how desperately unhappy being fat makes you!!!

I think Lipo really gives you chance to step back and look at what you eat/drink!

As also quite rightly said.... do they not think being obese is bad for your body??? Its probably worse... if i hadn't have done this diet so far i'd be sat here....3 stone heavier with a glass of wine.... You'd have to be a bit weird to think that my body was better off 9 weeks ago....

I think that some people can't undertsnad this diet, it is extreme but it works for some people.... You just concentrate on you hun.... its not forvever.... it will get you to where you want to be....

Good luck to you hunni.... you will have the last laugh!!!

    On that lovely slim face!!!

Emma-Jayne, I'm sure your family think they're being nice by telling you not to worry about the weight and are probably well-meaning in their own minds. But, as you say, they don't know the anguish you feel inside so just explain that it's a professionally supervised plan with proven results and when they see the new, happy, healthy you at your goal, they'll get it!!
Stick to your guns hun, we're all behind ya!

im really lucky as my mum has done LT in the past so she knows exactly what im going through and my boyfriend is totally supportive. However his family think its a stupid diet and keep asking me do i want anything to eat, and how it must be so difficult for me not eating. i feel like saying 'well yes its difficult when u keep bloody tempting me with food' but i just tell them it'll be worth it in the long run when i am fit and healthy for my daughter. Don't let anyone bring you down and keep thinking to yourself that you are doing this for yourself, not for there satisfaction xx

i have to say before i started this my mum was doing it and was having great results, however i couldn't see how she was going to last and keep it off long term. A few weeks of watching the weight come off and my weight going on even though i was in slimming world (cheats all the time), I decided to give it a go and do you know what i love this diet i cant believe how good i have been i am so proud of my achievement so far, i am motivated and commited to a diet for a change.

I did find it years ago, five year ago but i pilled it all back on after doing it. And every time i tried to get back on it i failed. I think you have to have a reason to do it, the first time it was the ***** at work i went on holiday with showing people pictures of me in my bikini and this time, my sisters getting a gastric bypass and i dont want to be the fat sister (my other sisters a skinny minnie). xx

Thanks everyone! It's been really helpful to read through your comments! I am going to stick at it no matter what, I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow so that will be a good incentive to keep going. Their comments and your positive support has made me more determined to keep the weight off long term when I finish lipo.

Lucinda1985, telling them straight how it will be worth it the long run is definitely something I am going to do! I actually dread going round to see them because I know I am going to get a million questions and food temptations! When I stroll in wearing a new pair of skinny jeans and tight top they'll change their minds, mwahahaa!!
