day one and i feel shocking, help

ive already been on LT, back on it now, today is my first day and its been good, easy even, until now, brekki and dinner shake really filled me up, teatime shake at 9pm, did not, im starving, im shaky and feel sick, i know i can get through tonight if i go to bed, but im dreading waking tomorrow, i really, am as i have to get kids to school and look after my baby all day:eek:

and just know im gona be weak and ratty as hell, as ive also given up smoking 8 days ago, but i can just see ,mein the morning, ill wake all shaky etc, and im so worried, i really want to do this

Sorry to hear you are finding it so tough. Its not easy, thats for sure. It seems like your lifestyle/demands are quite big and you have just given up smoking, I think you bit off a lot (excuse the pun, would love if it made u smile) and basically you have to either decide to do this and accept all the rattiness, energyless, foodless, days, weeks and months of this or else decide to maybe do the maintenance version? I am doing the 100% but I don't have kids to take care of, just me and h2b, I've a very demanding job but as I work for myself its a bit more flexible.
I think you have taken a lot on and you have set yourself some very big goals, all the power to you if you for having the guts to challenge yourself so much, with the stopping smoking as well, minding little ones and doig this LT. I hope you have plenty of support at home for this too because its not easy. If u ever need our support we are all here for you. Hope u feel a bit better xxx

hey hun my desision is deffo made that im doing this, im actually ok with the not smokiing at min, as thinking of this diet is taking my mind off fags lol, the reason ive waited until i stopped smoking to do this is i could not afford to do it until i stopped, so im using my fags money for LT:):)

i so want this hun, im jjsut really worried how im gona feel next few days, i know when i reach day 5 ill be fine, i just am so hungry and weak right now

Fair play to you for being so strong. Its a great idea for ur health to use the fags money to pay for LT. Your health will benefit the most. What I did the first few days is went to bed early, read books, drank peppermint tea, lots of water, still and sparkling, took log baths, paint toe nails, give urself a manicure anything to keep ur mind of food. I think you have lots of distractions with the kids so you will be kept busy, I did feel quite weak but I just rested, don't do more than u have to and drink the water.
All the best with it, it won't last forever and you can push yourself over this week with the willpower u already have you will make it to your goal.
Please do keep us up tpo date with how ur getting on etc and good luck for tomorrow xxx

hey thanks hun, went to bed feeling shocking, woke this morning not hungry at all, i was thinking wow this is cool, then i brushed me teeth and the hunger rushed in, think it was the taste lol, had my shake and felt a bit sick but kept it down and now im fine, drinking water and black coffee right now, and looking forward to next drink, in day im ok i think coz before LT i always skipped brekki and dinner most days and ate lots in the evening, so that why i think the night was bad for me.....

not even thinking of ciggie to be honest, food deprivation is much worse haha

Good luck with it hun - the trauma of losing food will go and it will be worth it. I have found that putting off my 1st shake til about 11am - the next at 3pm and the last at 8pm really helps. I was an evening snacker BIG STYLE so having one later on stops me thinking about food so much. Also keeping the water intake betwen 3-4 litres a day really keeps me full and stops me getting a fuzzy head.

Hi Natalieann,

I second what ohtobe said there. Space them out, put off the first shake for as long as u can and fill up with coffee, tea, and WATER especially in between and while in the first week I wouldn't recommend being too active, I would say distract yourself by painting your nails, reading a book etc Have u tried a spoon of instant coffee in either the cho or vanilla shakes? Mixed with really cold water its delicious, just a tip hun. Good luck for today!

hey guys thanks, today been really easy to be honest, im just having my last shake of the day now, waited as long as poss, with the strawberry i blend with ice and water, with the choc i use water, ice, 2 sweeteners and a spoon of coffee every time, and its delish lol, what its like with coffee in the strawberry?
a always did the choc this even when i was on it last time, never tried the vanilla ones, so may try them next week as i can imagine coffee is nice in that!!!! yum!!!!

for my day time shakes i use a handfull of ice, and in evening ive used loads more, as it almost doubles the amount and fill me up more, is this ok?

also ive just ending day 2, day 3 tomorrow, and i had a naugty wiegh today and looks like ive already lost 3 lbs, never did it lastime lol so dont know if im going daft or is it possible?

If your finding the time long between shakes split them i know ive read that lots of people split them so it makes them feel like der getting more

Hi Hun,

Well done on getting through today, I have never had strawberry with coffee...just choc and vanilla but u could try see what it was like. I always mix mine with at least 600ml of ice cold water!! They really fill me up.

You can have as much ice and/or water as you like with your shakes. Make them to your taste and play with ice, hot water, cold water, sweeteners, peppermint tea and anything else that you can think of that is allowed on LT. My fave is strawberry shake, 13 ice cubes, 4 sweeteners (crushed tablets) and about 200mls of water all in a blender 'til smooth. Really feels creamy and naughty - and perfect with a straw on a hot day! x

hey guys thanks for all the tips and i do have to agree funily enough when blended with the ice, coffee, sweetner, the choc shakes taste very naughty, i catch my self drinking it thinking im cheating lol

and i may try the splitting them up actually if i get really hungry, im fine in the day its just the evening, so maybe ill split that one?

im doing better then i thought actually, last time it i really struggled, this time i surprising myself, it was jsut the first night i was bad with..

im just wondering i know ketosis is supposed to kick in on daY 4-5, can it kick in earlier?

i have a very dry furry tongue no matter how much water i drink, my breath already smells pretty bad too........and ive heard shiving is a sypmtom too, and im so warm to touch, but today ive been so cold inside,and shivvering as if im could come down with flu, but im not ill?

You could be in ketosis, everyone is different and day 4-5 is just an indication, the major sign for me was that I was not hungry at all. I also got ketostix from my chemist too and they indicated that I was in ketosis. You could ask your pharamcist for them if you wanted.

hey thanks hun, i wasnt really hungry when i got up today so had my shake an hour after i got up, then ive been really hungry, now im not again now its amost time for lunch, but i have a had very weak lightheaded period earlier when i had to sit down:confused:

ive been checking my pee lol:eek: and no white bits yet?

but its warm here today and im freezing, walking round in my coat

Coldness is a sign definitely, your blood pressure is probably a bit low and thats why you feel a bit light headed, best thing for that is to rest enough (especially this first week) and when you stand up come up slowly, don't jump up straight away!
If you are cold why not make up the soup? You won't feel it now until your first weigh in and you will see the results, its a great motivator. How are you with the fags? I admire your strength, fair play to you, if you can do this you can do anything

Sounds like you're in ketosis to me. Get used to the cold cos it lasts a long time. So glad you got through those awkward first few days. Stick it out and your first weigh in will be great!

ohhh i really do hope so, im stilll feeling hungry today but it not too bad, but im even colder today, had nmy coat on sat in house and its been sunny, now im sat with the fire on fullblast:rolleyes:

ive not got any soup hun as last time i hated it, but i may try one again next week, if does anyone have any tips to make it nicer?

and this diet is doing me good, as im not thinking or even craving for fags at all now, i was before i started this, my mind is on food now haha, the fags and cravings seem a distant memory, but i am on champix:D

i hope hun, they say day 4-5 but whats everyones average? and yes im frozen lol, i cant wait to get this weekl over

also ive just had a peppermint choc shake and it was yummy and really filled me up for the first time, i so hope im in ketosis
