    Hi All
    Well, completed day 1 officially yesterday - as took a look on website on Wednesday to obtain my correct intake figures. Decided to start on 25% dd (458) as the 20% is only 356kcal, though I may struggle with this currently.
    Also decided to try and follow with food and not cd packets as do not feel this is the way forward for me. Anyway, had my 458 ok today and felt fine with that though did struggle a little during day with major hungar pangs.
    I had today
    punnet strawberries
    handful cherries
    2 x satsumas
    2 x ww yogurts
    mixed leaf salad & 2 dessertspoons cottage cheese
    2 litres water & zillion weak black coffees
    Somebody gave me a chunk of choc (those individual wrapped cadbury bite things) and I have put it in my drawer at work for today !!!! Can't wait !! Lol
    Got 1782 to have today and still got load of fruit in drawer so going to try and nibble on that during day at work then have nice dinner tonight. Let you know how today goes.

    Sounds like you are doing great Bev. Well done for starting a diary. I love the fact that you put the chocolate in the drawer for today. Isn't it great how calm it makes you feel to know you can have it tomorrow.

    Hope you enjoy it. I am certainly enjoyingall my food more now, UpDays and DownDays alike!

    Don't forget that Dr J says there is no real need to cal count on UD, in fact he advises against it as it can cause 'diet fatique' and actually put you off Juddd. I don't cal count on UD's but might start if I plateau, but even then I would not want to count as strictly as I do on DD's.

    Congrats on starting judddding and for finishing day 1 - which is often the toughest!
    Well done for saving the chocolate for today, thats brilliant!!
    As Barb said, most of us don't count calories on UD, we just eat sensibly and are flexible with treats/meals out.

    Hi all
    just a quick update - had intended to have mostly fruit today but we had a brill sales day at work yesterday and we were all treated to cream cakes today. Had already had some fruit & yogurt but no lunch so had a cake, enjoyed & then didnt have lunch. Felt hugnry towards the late aft though so just had a banana. Had delic stirfry with wraps for tea and off for a walk this evening. Teeth out tomoro so hopefully be an easy down day. Have fun all

    Thanks dizzy - all went ok at dentist - the guy was lovely, although had to have 8 injections as 1 side refused to come out easily & I kept feeling some pain.:eek: Didn't actually take long, but came out looking like a hamster, hardly able to speak and with instructions that for the next 24 hours I wasn't to have any hot food or drink, no excercise, no alcohol and basically to take it easy. :(OH took me for a stroll around lakeside (i wanted to go out somewhere) to take my mind of it. Food wise, I had planned to have soup and just coffee, but did find it hard to find things that were filling and cold that I wouldnt have to chew. Ended up having a carrot & orange smoothy drink (60cal) and a lite choc mousse (80cal) for lunch, :)loads of sugar free drink throughout the day - didnt want water as wanted to take the foul taste away from anaethsetic (spelling?), then had a fish pie for tea - found one in tesco for just 259 cals, cooked it and had it cold - it was ok though, only flaked salmon with mash on top - bearable. Then had a ww yog (59cals) :DSo, I had kept just about within my 25% dd limit for today. But, alas, it did go slightly wrong,:sigh: oh said he would treat me to sum new designer glasses - so we went off to try some on and get them ordered - all was fine - I had had a headache all day due to lack of coffee & oh doesnt know I am following this plan - anyway - he treated me to an iced coffee in starbucks:eek:- this would have been ok except it had vanilla syrup in it and cream on top!!!!.:eek: Luckily, it was very cold & I used the excuse I wouldnt be able to manage it easily with my mouth as it was. So, he had the cream on top and I had 3/4 of it through a straw, god knows how many cals in that let alone fat & sugar, but I did get a look on the way out and it was on the "skinny" menu stating less than 3% fat so maybe not quite as bad as I thought.:) Anyway, not a too bad a day considerring it was a down day and I did eat a meal (albeit a cold tiny one), so still feeling fairly ok. Fiday night we went for a walk to the pub and enjoyed a large glass of wine - walked back and worked out my total for day and was pleasantly surprised to find had only got to around 1500 and thats with a cake, good meal and alcohol - oh and managed 6500 steps which was pleased with have a sitting on fat bum all day job :pso don't get to walk around much ! Anyway, today is an upday and we are going for a long (steady) bike ride and out for a pub lunch when we get there - looking forward to this though not sure how the eating will be with my teeth (or holes where they were at least) feeling tender still. :wave_cry:Anyway - have fun all - catch up later - oh BTW - scales are showing another 1lb down !!!!

    You are so brave, I am a complete gibbering idiot at the dentist and I would not have given the diet a thought at all. So well done, for being brave and doing well with your Juddding, it's good to knwo that it is going well for you.

    You are so brave, I am a complete gibbering idiot at the dentist and I would not have given the diet a thought at all. So well done, for being brave and doing well with your Juddding, it's good to know that it is going well for you.

    hey thanks, well, I was feeling on top of the world, went out this morning for a bike ride - hour and half later we got to a town about 20mins car drive away - weather was lovely - good ride - hard in places but on the whole good. Had lovely lasagne for lunch washed down with 3 very nice glasses white wine and an ice cream, stroll round town then cyle back. Another hour and half later arrive home feeling fantastic after excersice, lunch, sun on skin. OH wanted to watch grand prix so decided to take a nap in garden. Woke up feeling absolutely sick as a dog and had to run to bathroom. Sat on loo with tap running (something I always have done since little when feeling ill - god only knows why). Had a polo - mint always seems to help with upset tummy and helps the feeling to go away. Just wondering if I have overdone it a little today after all that aneathestic yesterday - he only advised to refrain from excersise for 24hours, or I maybe have a touch of sunstroke - my back and shoulders do seem to be rather red ??? !!! Anyway, am sitting on bed wth dressing gown on, sipping water and hoping the feeling goes away - was feeling so good after a really good day, but now feel c**p !! Anyway goin to list food for today - had 2 x toast for brekkie 225 cals - carrot smoothie & a banana before went out this morn 140 cals total, then lasagne, ice cream & wine for lunch 1400 approx - had my quota for today i think but also done 3 hours of cycling so all in all a good day - depending on how I feel later, I may have a small glass skimmed milk before bed. Hope you all having a good weekend and enjoying the weather.

    Sounds like a pretty good day apart from feeling poorly. Does sound like a bit too much sun to me. Hope you are completely over it by the morning.

    Probably a combo of too much sun and a little too much effort soon after the dental stuff.

    Hi All
    Feeling ok today but the scales are showing a 1lb gain, feel a bit disheartened by this but week one weigh day is not till thursday so hopefully my 2 more dd and a good ud may help with this. I realise weighing should be once weekly only but just wanted to see if anything had changed. Anyone else found this? Finding it hard at the mo to not be hungry on dd even though still drinking nearly 2 litres water, loads of coffee and statying within the 25% limit. I'll keep at it and see what thursday brings. Looking forward to wednesday (meeting dizzy for coffee,chat & shopping) even though it is forecast to rain !

    glad your feeling a bit better after your visit to dentist and upset tummy.

    If you are feeling a bit hungry on a DD, would try to eat foods higher in protein ? it does help to stave off the hunger for longer. Am trying to do that myself on my DD.

    I know its disheartning to see the scales go up a bit but try to resist till Thursday and then you will have had a full week on it.

    I know I am just as guilty as jumping on and off those scales, its hard not to get on them but am trying not to. :p

    I can't resist hopping on and off but what I do is write it down everyday. I only 'count' my official weigh day as Monday but I do record everyday. It is very interesting because although there is a bit fo going up as well as going down, I can see the trend. It is a downward trend - Yipppee!
    So if weighing everyday is used as a tool not a discourager then go for it! If it brings you down, avoid!

    well I am trying to use it as a tool only and not a guide to how I am doing. Have been on them this morning already though and they have gone back to where they were, I am not enthusiastic for a loss of more than 6 in total this week, but................... a loss is a loss, I have eaten, drunk and enjoyed what I have had without too much trouble (few hunger pange here and there) so as you say - whatever the loss if its down its good. Yesterday I had >

    100g strawberries & 100g cherries (yum yum) through day
    WW yog & 2 satsumas (lunch at work)
    100g Cottage cheese, bowl mixed leaves, 4 cherry toms & mint fat free dressing followed by ww yogurt (dinner)

    This would have been total for day on 20% level, but was absolutely starving late evening so had 2 small crumpets with a scraping of peanut butter.

    This bought the level for day to nearer 25-30%.
    Not what I wanted to do today but I figured that everything else I had had for day was mostly "air" foods - ie not containing much of anything (sugar, fat etc) and if I was genuinly hungry then I should eat.

    Anyway, not a bad dd but today I am looking forward to my lunch already today on my ud - got sum soft seeded sub rolls and have made an egg & ham roll to take to work.
    Have cut in half so will have half at lunch & half mid afternoon (about 320cal), feels like a real treat as would never normally even think about something like that due to the high calories (just for lunch).
    Got sum fruit & yog too so hoping to not feel hungry too much today & bring some home.
    Will try desperately to not just eat it because I can and because its there ! Will manage my tummy accordingly.

    Just realising we are meeting up again tomorrow. That has come around quite quickly in the end.

    I'll PM you so we can arrange a time and meeting place.

    I know what you mean about looking forward to meals on the UpDay. For me this is one of the best things about this diet. It has been a long time since I can truely say I have enjoyed and looked forward to my food. I am learning to do that again on the UpDays.

    Had a good UD today although I have had only around 1500 cals I have eaten loads and am really full.

    Had crumpet & scraping of p'nut butter for brekkie. (75cals)
    Banana & 2 x satsumas up to 2pm
    My Egg & Ham Roll & Low fat crisps(85 cals) for Lunch.
    Low fat cake slice mid aft (70 cals)
    Chilli Beef stirfry with baby corn, Rice & Garlic Bread for tea.

    Blimey sounds like abso loads !!!

    Did have spells of feeling a bit hungry though during day even with eating all that. Worrying !

    Just an update on yesterdays ud eating - had four squares of chocolate in evening - totally emotional eating and wasn't even hungry ! Was trying to call my parents and they weren't answering - bit unusual for them to be out in the week but not totally dismissable, still worried me though that I couldn't get hold of them - I had text my dad too and he hadn't replied.! What worried me even more was that the tables have turned and it's me who is worrying about them when I am unable to reach them and not the other way around ! Life eh - anyway - had the chocolate and although it was nice I didn't really need to have it and the parent outcome was that they had been to friends for the evening and my dad had left his phone at home ! He will be getting a telling off when I call them later - what is the point of him having a phone for emergencies if he leaves it at home !!
    Parents !!
    Have good day all - dd for me to day and meeting dizzy - suns out so looking forward to today. x
