Hi guys,

I'm in the second week of cruise (loss of 9 and a Half pounds so far yey :)

However today I have had the most horrendous headaches and quite heavy dizzy spells I mean they have lasted all day! My eyes ache I have felt nausea, headache and generally feeling unwell.

I going to try and visit doctor tomorrow to get checked out and be on the safe side but i wonder If these are possible side effects of the diet and if anyone else has suffered with them in cruise phase?

I hope it's not a cause of the diet as I would hate to come off it when I am doing so well.

Any comments regarding this would be greatly appreciated. I have done a google search but there a lot of mixed messages about side effects of dukan. I didn't experience this the last time I did dukan and that was for 2 months.

Many thanks

Are you still eating a good amount of allowed foods or do you think you're not eating quite enough? Perhaps you're coming down with something? I'm in week 1 of cruise and have lost 8lbs so far but not felt like you describe, a little tired maybe but not dizzy.

Hello, during my first week of cruise I was having dizzy spells, one day in particular it kept happening - not as severely as you are describing though. I read that that can be caused by losing weight too rapidly?

Hope you feel better.

Thanks for your replies guys. I also read could be an effect of losing weight too quickly but didn't feel like this last time and I lost 2 stone in 2 months last year when I did dukan.

Ill see what the doctor says tomorrow just to be on the safe side but fingers crossed its jist a bad day and I wake up feeling fine tomorrow x

Thanks again x

Never heard of dizzy spells on dukan, some people feel flu like symptoms, but its def worth checking out at the docs. Make sure you are eating enough and drinkng enough too

I have read mixed reviews with some people experiencing dizzy spells and others saying none.

I have been drinking 2 litres minimum per day plus green tea, tea and diet coke. I have stuck to the diet strictly.

Woke up this morning feeling exactly the same so hopefully doctor will giver advice today.

Thanks for all you comments x

I get dizzy spells when i have not eaten enough or mainly when i first wake up. Maybe try snacking a little more? Are you prone to dizzy spells anyway? I don't worry about them as i used to get them very often as a teen, even sometimes fainting, and it's only the past few years since i started eating properly (and gaining weight lol) i have realised it was related to not eating.

Hi guys,

Just to update, been to the doctors today and he confirmed its nothing at all to do with the diet and that I have actually got labrynthitus which is an imbalance in my inner ear causing dizzy speaks and loss of balance.

Have been prescribed tablets for 3 weeks and have to go back and see a specialist if its not gone by then. :(. On the plus side I am happy it's not diet related.

Thanks again

Good news .....ish lol at least youll still lose weight while you balance improves xxx

pleased to hear the doc was on the ball and you are now able to get it sorted.

I feel your pain - I've had vertigo before which, literally, knocked me off my feet for a week.

Get well soon.
