Do you ever email your group leader for support?

I have never been told that I can but I am curious if people do email their group leader for support. I know they are not counsellors but do they help through emails?

I was just curious as you never get to speak to the leader during meetings. She is always already pounced on by everyone else or if you do grab here the queue does not make me feel comfortable!
