Does anyone else struggle to use syns?

I really struggle some days to even get past 2 syns, and it's not that I'm not eating, I just seem to have days where between my HEs and free foods I don't use many syns.

My food plan for today equals 1.5syns and I'm eating loads.

I don't always want a treat either, and I sometimes find self having to force syns into a meal.

Am I weird? Hehehe

Tee hee, def weird!!

Only kidding, I use mine every day and struggle when I have to reduce them as I'm trying to be good! I know what you mean though as there are people at my group, especially those on EE who don't manage to use them up. Try and have 5 though, even if it means having one biccie or something.

I really struggle on green days, its a nightmare! I put a post up about struggling to eat syns on green and i was given some great advise. Have alook for it because it will help you build more syns into your meals.

i wish i had your problem i'm the opposite i've more trouble trying to stay within the 15 syns a day!!

Thanks for the headsup gymclasshero - will have a look.

Don't get me wrong, it's not daily and this weekend I went beserk and ate about a months worth of syns in a day. But that's what I want to avoid - they say 5 for a reason and I must start complying hehe.

I very rarely have more than 5 syns a day and still loose weight. As long as you dont feel deprived you will be fine and your losses will be as consistent as if you had between 10 -15 syns a day.
Dont let it worry you, as long as you are following the plan, you will be fine.

I find I can use mine more easily at the weekend that's why I don't worry to much if I go over 15 - but I have a job to get the full amount in during the week, I usually manage from 6-10, but so far I am easily within my weekly syn total of 105.

I count down from 105. I may use one or two on weekdays but make up for it with the wine at a weekend! :eek:

So does it matter if you dont have any syns monday - saturday and then pig out on a take away on the sunday?

I am 2 days in and finding it hard to make myself use them... I think I am trying to be really good and feel like im cheating by having something for a treat. :sigh:

Last night I had a slice of toast and a cheese slice just to get some syns used up... didnt feel too guilt as it was still something healthy.

I am sure that will fade as weeks go by....

Mini choc bars or crisps, an extra 1oz cheese will definitely put stop to that! Lol

Part of using syns in the mentality, thinking that using them wil either be cheating or slow your weight loss down, if anything it will speed it up! Try putting syned food into your main meals, or having extra A's/B's and synning them - could be a way to start!

Here's today's meal breakdown:

7.30 - Breakfast. 2 x weetabix (HEB1) with semi skimmed milk (HEA1) with sweetener and raspberries

9.30am - Snack. Clementine and some more raspberries

11.30am - Lunch. Tomato, cucumber, watercress salad with 5x light laughing cow triangles (HEA2)

2pm - Snack: Hartley's jelly = 1/2 syn and rest of raspberries

The 'I don't wanna snack before dinner' effort: 2 toast (HEB2) with 4 tsp flora extra light = 2syns

6.30pm: Roasted salmon (with frylight), boiled brocolli, cauliflower and carrots.

I am stuffed and if I am correct...only 2.5 syns! I might have to buy some biccies to have as a little treat on these days where I struggle to fill a min of 5syns.

Gah - I blame the hot weather for lack of fuss for choccy and such.

I too hardly use my syns and it hass worked for me. I eat plenty, and if I do have syns it's by way of ingredients. I would say most days I don't hit 2. But if have a moment of weakness which uses 40 :O It balances itself out.

I wouldn't worry too much. Just try and add more to your lovely meals hun :D
