Hi all!
In my second week of sw (2.5 off in first week) and wondering about fish!?

we would not be the best fish eaters and when wed o its most likely breaded or battered! We would normally eat donegal cat h but it is not on thr syns online area so im guessing it must be a local brand.

How many syns do i have to add for bread or bater?

Thanks

Hi
There is a sub forum for syn enquiries and you may find someone on there who knows more specifics but as a guide a breaded piece of cod that weighs around 150g is about 10 syns. Battered ones, taking sainsburys as a guide, are 11syns for a piece weighing 125g. So they are pretty high bearing in mind the fish is free!!

You can create a crust on a piece of fish (or chicken) by dipping it in egg and then in wholemeal breadcrumb, black pepper and salt and having that as your HEXB or I make chicken nuggets in egg and seasoned polenta. That's about 4.5 syns
