Down ... and almost out

    I feel really really down today - i feel like cancelling my weigh in tonight (i wont though) because i've been really stupid over the weekend and although I had a great time I now feel like i've blown it. I ate loads and drank loads and to be honest I loved it at the time. The problem is that i'm only 16 Ilbs from my goal and lately i've been thinking I kind of look ok - I used this as an excuse to have time off the diet and now I feel so silly. I dont lose it easily anyway (2 Ibs a week) and I must have put loads on.

    I really want to do this ... i just cant handle real food but I cant stay on SS forever ... please give me some advice on how to get over this blip

    Hi Sash,

    Don't cancel your weigh in tonight as it is more crucial to go at a time like this when you need to talk to your CDC. She is not there to judge you but to help you understand what it is your feeling right now and help you to identify the reason why when you are so close to goal that you feel like sabotaging yourself which is very common.

    Beating yourself up is not helping as it is just more of the process of feeling unworthy.

    As you have said only 16lbs. to goal, you can do this as it is so near.

    Oh Sash,

    Please dont get disheartened! I am not one to comment on cheating, but I do know what it is like to almost be at target, and decide that actually I look fine.

    When I did LL, loads of my friends told me I looked fine and didn't need to lose any more weight. I still had a stone to go until I was going to stop, but at BMI 25.7, I stopped due to peer pressure. I have regretted that choice, as I always wonder "what if". And now, I have put tons of weight back on, and have to start again on CD. I always think that part of my problem was not really appreciating what I looked like at a healthy weight and it didn't really matter if I put weight on because I was overweight (if only by a bit) anyway. I put in 25 weeks of effort for NOTHING in the end.

    It is only one last 16lbs, please do it, you will never know how it feels to be rid of them when you don't, and you will regret it so much!

    Keep strong, I know it is hard, but please do, I wish I had - you will feel better for it in the end.

    Thanks so much for your words of encouragement ... it just seems to get harder the slimmer you get !!

    Notsotrim ... i'm so sorry you fell off the wagon, you did so well and i'm sure you'll do it again and maintain it. People are all telling me now that i dont need to lose any more ... the problem is that although the scales say I need to lose another stone or so I've had so much more confidence in myself lately that I got silly and careless and thought I was something i'm not.

    Ah well, back on the wagon !! :eek:

    Just think of why you are doing this. There must be something which made you make the call. We are all here for you! You're gonna look so bloody amazing when we're done with you :D

    please dont give up, u are sooooo close

    maybe write out a list of why u started this diet etc, look at ol photos anything that will keep u motivated :)

    Hi Sash,

    I have a diary thread in the strugglers and restarters forum and I encourage you to read it to see what damage restarting 'normal' eating and drinking straight from SSing can do.

    From my own experience and from reading other threads it seems that only 2 things can come of it - either you will end up back to where you started - or you will be coming for a spin with me on the SS/stuffing your face merry go round!

    I encourage you to get to where you want to be then start introducing food through the plans in the correct way. If you feel comfortable to do so now then go for it - but don't go back to enjoying the kind of weekends that we used to pre CD straight away. Believe me - it'll end in tears.

    I agree with Mini, dont let this set you back. Go and visit your CDC and hopefully she should be able to get you back on track again

    Thanks Yo yo, your advice really helped. I've just been over and looked at your diary. Its SO nice to know i'm not the only one doing the merry go round !! :) I really admire those people who stick to it so rigidly - i just love love love my food (and wine lol) and its so hard when people tell you how good you look, you think "yep i'm not too shabby anymore .... i'll have a glass of wine and a plate of chinese "!! and then you get the huge pregnant tummy and the guilt, aaargh :( The problem is that I hate salad and I hate ruddy cottage cheese, ... quorn, tofu and turkey all make me gag ! I dont mind SS'ing but then you get the deprived feeling after a few days. I think i am meant to just move to italy, eat everyhting in sight and become a big italian momma !! :D
