My mam has been worrying me saying I have been eating too many eggs and that I'll cause myself a heart attack!!!!

Does anyone else think you can eat to many eggs#?

yes you get egg bound if you have to many and although i've never had it, its supposed to be rather painful. Think you should only have 10 a week, don't think it will cause heart attacks though!!

This is really odd as I was just wondering this myself and came on to post about it!!

I have just had three scrambled for my lunch and had two yesterday so thinking I've probably had enough for a few days!!

I know they can cause constipation for some people (although I've never had this problem myself) but I've never heard them linked to heart attacks. I think they are also quite high in colesterole.

Would be interested in other peoples views...

Eggs are very good for you (provided you don't fry them in oil!)> they are packed with essential vitamins and contain very little cholesterol.

I think it is quite difficult to eat too many,as they are so filling. I can see nothing wrong with eating them every day.. although I do get egg-ed out every now and then and don't eat them for a bit. It's how you cook them rather than the eggs themselves.. if you see what I mean.

It's better that than lots of chocolate and saturated fat!

Have a look on the internet, there is lots of info on eggs and their nutrition and benefits. :)

    Mmmm very interesting post.

My father had a heart attack after my sister passed away and was given a diet sheet and was told to limit to 2 eggs per week as they are high in cholesterol and we all know that too much cholesterol can block the arteries thus causing heart problems..... but as everyone says everything in moderation.

It's only over the weekend that I have had a few. I don't really tend to eat them during the week. I made a quiche on Friday with 3 eggs, then had an egg sandwich yesterday with one egg, 2 scrambled egg on Saturday and had an omlete yesterday. Thats probably enough. I only use fry light as well ...... I always thought they were high in cholesterol but surely if you are meant to limit them s/w would tell you that?

I eat TONS of eggs. I mean, about 36 a week.
I do think about the cholesterol factor, but I figure that losing all this weight is bound to be more important for my health. Once I'm at a good weight, I can look at other potential issues, and perhaps cut back on eggs. Right now though, I couldn't be without them.

my slimming world consultant said to eat as many as i like. i have ate over 30 in a week by the time u have a couple of sw quiche and maybe a couscous cake and a few boiled eggs in salad or for munching they soon add up. i dont think i d stick to the diet other wise. sw constulant said they are only limited if u have high cholestral.

 I live on egg fried rice, chopped egg & cottage cheese baked tatties, hard boiled eggs (at home, and on long drives), fried/scrambled egg rolls (To use HEbs), quiche, I egg wash half of what I bake...yeah. It's very easy to eat that many! lol I know it sounds heaps. But I've lost just under 3 stone so far, so I'm doing something right :p hehehe

If you're worried about cholesterol then perhaps eat less of the yolks.

I start to feel sick if I eat too many eggs. Yeurgh.

My SW consultant always told us to limit yourself to 10 per week. I always watch how many I am eating, but I am not a big lover of them to be honest.

i think eggs can raise your cholesterol if you already have naturally high cholesterol ... high cholesterol = furred arteries = potential heart attack.

my dad has heart failure and was told by his GP and specialist to limit his eggs to a few a week, but 10 a week would be safe for healthy people.
